Inhumane

Chapter 12

I take my chocolate cupcakes out of the oven and place them on the cooling rack and my culinary group claps in amazement.

"As always your cupcakes always come out perfect! "

"The teacher will definitely give us an A!"

"What would we do without you?! "

I smile at them and thank them for the compliments. We take off our hats and aprons off and we sit down waiting for the final bell to ring to go home.

I haven't heard from Segi since he left with Monica at lunch, should I be worried? I shake my head. I shouldn't be worrying about the boys so much, I should be focusing more on myself!

As I stuff my hat and apron in my bag a student aid walks in the door and hands my teacher a paper and walks out.

"Maddie please come over here! " the teacher calls out across the room.

Me?

Confused on why he called me out, I put my stuff down and walk over to his desk where he's sitting.

"You are wanted at the principals office. " he says and hands me the paper.

What business would I have there?

I head my way to the principals office and to my surprise there's two weirdly dressed up tall men standing in front of the door.
They are both wearing very dark clothes with a long cloak and a dark suit that look like you'd be wearing for business and gloves.

What the heck?

"Umm..excuse me I need to get in." I say awkwardly.
They look down at me and didn't say a word, few seconds pass and they opened the door for me.

"Uhh thanks.." I say nervously and dash into the room as they close the door behind me.

"Good afternoon Maddie. It's been a while. " a man says behind a chair that's facing away from me. He spins the chair and in my surprise the man who is sitting in the principal office was not my principal, it's my former caretaker back in H.M.E. Mike.

Mike raised me and Yo-kun back in H.M.E. His job was to get our results from all the test and experiments they did on us and basically had to watch over us all the time. I guess he was like our dad now that I think about it. He did not neglect or abuse us like how most people would back there but he did not give us any special treatment either.

"Wha-what the heck! Mike?! " I gasp

Why is he here?!

"My my Maddie you sure have converted into quite a beautiful young lady. " he smiles and gets up from his seat .

"I-I never thought I see you again." I say in disbelief.

"Well here I am." He chuckles

My former caretaker has come back into my life. Why? I'm not even sure to be happy or scared that he's here.

He probably came here to take me back?!....

"Wh-why are you here though? " I ask nervously

He walks over to me and gives me a quick hug and looks at me, studying me. The more he closer he got to me the more uneasy I felt.

"Well Maddie I assume these past couple of days you've been with Yo and Segi? " he asks and walks over to the desk and sits back down.

"Uhh yes, yes I have. "

"I do hope you are aware on why they are here correct? " he asks and lifts an eyebrow.

"Yes, I know. Mike I must say I'm against this! " I shout
