Chapter 21

What the hell are you doing up so early?" Yo-kun yawns as he walks through the kitchen.

I've been up since 6 a.m because after that hectic night trying to get Izumi to sleep he woke up hours later because he's hungry and here I've been feeding him since.

"He woke up last night and he was hungry and here I've been since. " I yawn. I haven't slept all night I'm exhausted .

"You look like a walking corpse. " he comments on my appearance.

"Gee thanks asshole. " I roll my eyes

Yo-kun heads to the fridge and grabs himself a carton of milk and chugs all of it down in seconds.

I frown. "Hey that was for Izumi!"

He lifts an eye brow at me and spits all the milk back into the carton and puts it back in the fridge.
I try with all my might not to throw up at the disgusting sight I just witnessed.

"Ew! Go throw that away and tell Nora to go buy a new one! " I snap.

"Fine. Anyways I'll take Izumi now." He reaches out his hands for Izumi and I pull him away.

"Why do you want Izumi for? " I lift my brows.

"Can I not hold my son?" He asks annoyed and offended?

He's right.

"Err- right sorry." I chuckle embarrassingly and hand him over to Yo-kun.

"Well, c ya." They both walk out of the kitchen and head upstairs and I smile.

I wonder what what they are gonna do. I grin at the thought....wait... What are they doing to do?
I gasp in terror and run upstairs and head to the lab and bust the doors open to see Yo-kun, Segi, and Donovan looking at a computer screen and Izumi hooked up to wires and machines looking completely calm.

"WHAT THE HELL IS ALL THIS!? " I shout

"Maddie I know this is against your wishes but gathering this data is important! Nothing bad will happen to him I can assure you that! " Donovan states.

"You could always just be here and watch him to see for yourself. " Segi suggests and I grab a chair and sit on it in defeat.

"Ok let's see what we got so far." Donovan pulls out a list and charts of everything regarding Izumi. "Apparently he grows 4 inches every week , he's able to go into the raw diet, instinctively go into defense with biting, scratching, and cries. He learned to walk into just about a week into his life." He scratches his head. "Now I'm curious if his intelligence is growing faster too as his body.

He puts down the papers, picks up an apple that was sitting on his desk and walks over to Izumi who looks up at him with such an adorable face I try my best not to run over to him and squeeze his little cheeks.
"Now Izumi. I want you to hold this apple and drop it when I say so." Donovan hands Izumi the apple. "Nod if you understood me."
He nods.

I feel my mouth make an "o" .

Astonishing.

"Now Izumi drop the apple."
He does as he's told.

"How does this prove anything? Any toddler can do that. " Segi says unamused by this test.

Donovan rolls his eyes and grabs some papers and a pen, he writes something down on it and faces it to Izumi.

"Read what it says Izumi." Donovan asks.

"Donovan he doesn't even know how to talk yet. " Yo-kun states

Donovan turns to Yo-kun "He will now." He faces back to Izumi.
"Read it ."

"Pickles."

All of our eyes widened and silence filled the room.

"R-repeat that again Izumi. " Donovan gulps, not sure if he knows how to react to this.

"Pickles."

He says it so simply. His pronunciation is perfect. He can read and he's never even tried to read off words before let alone never even seen or heard the word pickles before.

"He hasn't even said "mama" or "dada" yet how can he say "Pickles"?!"
I ask in shock.

"I somehow don't very find this surprising. I expected his intelligence to be heightened than average toddler. He'll be able to say full sentences sometime soon, probably next week? Month? " Donovan says questioningly

I sigh. "He's growing up too fast. He's barely almost three weeks. "

Segi pats me on the shoulder. "Don't worry about that love, just cherish these times you have with him now. "

I scoff. "Easy for you to say. "

After a nice breakfast prepped by Nora and a lovely five hour nap I feel refreshed and much better.

I head downstairs to the living room after being called down by Nora and Donovan.

"What's up?" I ask

"Maddie we've noticed that you've been getting better and I think it's time for you to resume your normal life and go back to school."Donovan suggests.

"Really?" I smile "I get to go back to school?! "

I honestly missed school. Even though it's been a month since I haven't went I missed everyone there. Especially Lucas.
I left Lucas in the dark just suddenly leaving him and not telling him what's wrong or when I'll be back.
He'll probably never forgive me for leaving him.

I'm horrible friend....

"What about Izumi though?" I ask, jumping out of my depressing thoughts.

"Don't worry he'll be in our care while your at school." Nora smiles

Thank goodness!

"Then I guess I'm going back to school! " I exclaim

I run back up stairs feeling excited about the the thought of going back to soon school. I'll somehow have the normal part of my life back again.

"Well you seem excited. " Yo-kun blurts out and I look at the top of the stair case and Yo-kun is scowling at me.
Why?

"Is it wrong to be excited? " I ask suspiciously.

"Have you forgotten that you have a kid? He's going to be crying over you while your gone and I don't know about you but I like having my ears and I think everyone else in this house does too. " he says pissed.

What the hell. "That's why you're here. To take care of him while I'm gone so he won't be crying! You are his dad you know ,it's not just my responsibility to take of him, we both need to share this job. " I hiss

"Do you think I fucking qualify for that?! Sorry to break to you but I don't have what it takes to be a dad! I'm still trying to even figure out what the hell it actually really is! My job was to create him not raise him! And since you want to keep him here you should at least stay here and fucking raise him! " he shouts at me, I feel my body jump. He's really angry at me. What have I done to upset him this much? He looks so scary when he's mad. His voice gets lower and his scowl makes his face look like a monster.
I'm actually pretty scared right now.

"W-what did I do to make you so angry!? I'm just going back to school! Besides I'll still take care of him when I get hom-"

"Oh just stop making bullshit excuses you just want other people like Nora, Donovan and Frank to deal with your problems so you won't have to. " he snaps at me.

How dare he say that about me and our son?!

Before my hand lands on his cheek he grabs it from the air. "Don't even try to do that again. " he growls and he snaps my wrist and I fall to the ground whimpering and pain and I watch him walk off pissed.

Why is he so angry with me?

I sit on the staircase and sob.

Hey guys! Sorry for this short chapter but the next chapter is gonna fill this one up! :)
