Chapter 8

After that gelatin fiasco the housekeeper Nora serves us turkey sandwiches and I teach Segi and
Yo-kun how to eat a sandwich properly. Since they tried to take it apart and gobble it up like animals the first time.

After we finished , we sat down in the living room on the fine white leather couches, they both face me ( even though Segi was staring at the tv but he didn't know that. )

"So uhh..what did you guys want to talk about? " I ask

"Well uhh I heard you refused to bear this idiot's kid is that true? " Segi asks lifting an eyebrow

"Well yes! I'm not gonna have a kid with him just so our child can be experimented on for life! " I shout

"I'm tired.I'm going to take a nap upstairs. " Yo-kun says and leaves Segi and me alone.

Did I hurt his feelings?

"Look I understand you don't want to but you have to! " Segi says

"But why me? Why Yo-kun?  Can't someone else do it?! "

He pauses for a moment trying to figure out the words he's going to say. I stare at him.

"It has to be Yo because he has the most strongest abilities back home."

"The best? "

What does that mean?

"Yes. No one can surpass him, not even me, that's why the director wants him to have a child to see if his child would surpass him, for that he'll need someone to carry is child and since none of the women in the facility can do that, you have to. " Segi bluntly

"Well if he's here to have a kid with me then why did you come here? " I asked confused

Is there another reason why both of them are here?

"I'm just here to keep an eye on him and to be sure he doesn't get himself in trouble. "

"But shouldn't you be the one you should be kept an eye on? I mean your blind and all. " I say awkwardly

I hope this doesn't offend him...

"Oh Maddie Maddie, once again you underestimate me. Unlike Yo I do have feelings you know." Segi says and pouts

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say it like that I jus-"

"Even though I'm blind I can still see where I'm going most of the time, thanks to H.M.E. I can see by relying on my senses of hearing, smell, and touch. There's a strong smell of raw meat over there so that's the kitchen." He says as he points his finger to the kitchen where Nora is cooking them dinner without even looking.

"And I hear a strange sound of people talking and music so it's coming from that thing you guys call TV. "
He says as he strokes the TV I just turned on that's playing a Barbie commercial.

I'm amazed! Of course ordinary blind people wouldn't be able to do that themselves but since Segi has strong senses he can! He doesn't need to rely on anyone for help, he's no where near helpless.

"Wow Segi! That's amazing!  " I say smiling

"It's really nothing special Maddie, what about you Maddie? Besides looking beautiful what do you use your abilities for? " Segi asks

" I don't really use them anymore.."

"Ah trying to forget you even had them? "

When I first got out of the facility I relied on my abilities for everything. Frank and Karen taught me that  using my abilities for everything won't actually let me live life, so now I don't use them as often but sometimes they just come out of no where.
