18) Ambush

Saito-

Saito growled.

It didn't happen. Claire fingered a little too hard, and he went past her hymen. Her whimper caused him to stop. He smelled the blood. He ruins the moment. She was in pain, and he wanted to ease that pain.

He is so stupid.

"You two look grumpy," Skyler said.

Claire sat on the couch, hugging her legs. She has a cup of tea.

"May I ask why?" Skyler asked. "Why are you two at odds?"

Saito looks away. "It's private."

"Does it have to do with the blood I smell?" Skyler sniffs Claire. "You two had sex?"

"He accidentally rips my hymn with his fingers," she closes her legs tighter. "I'm uncomfortable."

"Wow," Skyler cleared his throat and laughed.

Saito growled

"It's not funny," Claire huffed.

Saito would've smacked Skyler, but he's still healing.

Saito stood. "All right, stop laughing. Claire, do you want some ice cream?"

She nodded.

"I'll go buy you some, Skyler; you're coming with me," he grinned.

Skyler groaned.

"We'll be back," he gave her a quick kiss.

She smiled. "Vanilla with caramel."

He dragged Skyler along. He needs to speak to Skyler about something. It's essential.

"Why did you drag me along?" Skyler asked. "I'm injured."

"Are you soulmates with Sapphire?"

"I don't know," Skyler said. "The kid does tend to crawl all over me. She cries when I'm not close. She didn't want to leave me this morning. But she had a doctor's appointment, and she was spending the day with her parents."

Saito sighed. "Maybe she just has an attachment." He won't think about it.

"What's going to happen to the girl, Eleanor?" Skyler asked.

Right, Eleanor has been with his mother. Saito isn't sure what to do with her. She can't talk, and she's looking for her sister. He will allow her to stay for as long as he wants. But she needs to return home.

"I'll let her stay," he said. "If she ever wants to go home, I'll personally escort her."

Sai groaned. 'Why weren't you careful?' There he goes again. Sai has been nagging all day. 'You had one job, and that was to pleasure her. And you fuck it up. I was this close to bringing Claire's wolf out. Her name is Aire.'

'I'm sorry, stop nagging me,' he sighed. 'I messed up all right. We'll get it right next time.'

Sai whined and scoffed. Since finding that he would be able to mate with Claire, he has been impatient and unbearable.

"Are you having an internal fight with your wolf?" Skyler asked. "Because you look like you're about to scream from frustration."

He sighed. "How does it feel to be a hybrid?" He changed the subject. "Knowing you were born half demon and half angel, it must've been shocking."

Skyler groaned. "It was a shock, but I still need to know what happened to my parents."

"If I'm correct, that bastard killed them," Saito said. "He has ruined many lives, and for what? For power? I swear I'm going to rip his wings out."
