Beth and I pulled up to a house on the corner of the street. I could hear the music from here. Let's hope this is the right party and we don't end up just crashing a 5 yr olds birthday party. I triple checked the address from the text Ethan sent me. Yup, right place.
I was starting to feel nervous; last party I went to was my friend's sweet 16. But Ethan's a pretty cool guy, I reckon it's just gonna be a bunch of stuck up rich kids smoking weed and drinking like crazy. But hey, I'm doing this for Melody...where is she anyway?
'There's a shit load of people here so I'll try not to lose you' , Bethany interrupts my trail of thoughts but she said that so calmly like this is her everyday mojo.. that doesn't make sense but what I'm trying to say is that she's SUPER confident.
We walk in and my heart beats in my chest in time with the crappy R'n'B music no one really likes but are most likely too drunk to notice. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, I mean I was so inexperienced. I decided to take a moment and wrap my head around everything going on around me. Everyone here has come as a couple. Well, at least I have Beth. I look around to see Beth's amazingly perfect dark brown hair disappear in the crowd of dizzy people. Hmmm. She re-emerges and I see her on the stage talking to the DJ. Hey, he's Brandon Gilbert. Last time I saw him, he had a pudgy baby face ... awwwww! He's a man. He gave her the biggest grin ever followed by a fist bump. Man, Beth is a man magnet; what can I say? She walks over to the drum kit and starts jamming out and she's awesome.
I feel so awkward so I just pull my phone out and crash down on the sofa and scan through some pictures of me and Melody. I miss her. I really wanted to text her but I don't really know what I would say. A couple plop down next to me and start making out really aggressively. I slowly shuffle to the corner, trying to fit my fat ass in the edge so I could be as far away from them as possible. The guy pulls away from her and she lets out a moan. EW. Okay. He takes a long drag of some shit that is probably gonna kill him faster than I can say Mississippi. He turns round to face me and offers me some. I politely turn it down but in my head I'm thinking why are you offering me a one way death ticket wrapped in nasty?? I stand up and take a few steps away from them. This is so awkward. Bethany.. where are you now that I need ya? I just look around and then stare and my shoes.
'Damn..' I hear someone whisper behind me. It was Jonah, the sweetest guy ever and also really cute I'll have you know, sure brown eyes are common but his eyes make me feel so at home. And his hair is so beautiful I literally have no words. Wait did I just say that? I stare at my feet and wait a couple seconds for my devilish smirk to disappear. I turn around and like the douche I am, I just say 'yes?'.
'Noth-nothing', he splutters 'nothing, you just look really hot Amelia!! You want something to drink?'
I feel blood rush to my cheeks but before I could say anything or react, I notice his attention drift to something behind me. I push my hair out my face and begin to turn around and see what it was when I feel strong muscular arms wrap round my waist and soft, warm, plump lips rest on my neck. 'Hey baby', someone whispers.
