Amelie's POV

The annoying sound of my alarm wakes me up at 8:30 am, informing me that it is time to go to work.

I stand up from my bed, the light of the sun coming through the windows. I grab the glass of water that is resting on my desk and take a sip. As I let it down, I catch a glimpse of the picture I have on my desk, a picture showing Jim and I, happy, smiling. I miss those days so so much. Jim being out of my life for this long has been complete torture, and also, the reason for the misery I've been living every single day.

I get dressed, and go downstairs to have a quick breakfast. I pour in a cup of coffee, and I prepare some scrambled eggs and ham.

My phone beeps. I take it to check what is going on. As I turn it on, I see that it is my calendar. It says 'One week until: Wedding'. Excitement and nervousness hits me, and a smile grows on my face. Just one more week until I am happily married to the man that I love... Jason.

I take my plate to the sink, and grab my bag and keys, heading out for the door.

After driving through the crowded streets of L.A for a few minutes, I finally arrive to the lab.

I open the door of my office, put on my lab coat, and get the things ready. But before I can start, my phone starts ringing.

"Hello?" I say.

"Good morning, beautiful." It is Jason.

"Well, hello, groom. Just one more week," I say, a smiling appearing on my face.

"Yess!! Hope it goes by fast."

"It will you'll see."

"Hey, babe."

"What's up?" I say.

"Meet me right now at the mall. I will help you find your dress for the rehearsal dinner."

"Ohh...but I am working," I say.

"Come on...your boss said that because it is almost your wedding you could leave whenever you wanted."

"I know, but I don't want to be irresponsible either."

"Come one, it is just one day...for meet?????"

I sigh. "Okay, okay, but just today, sir."

"Yesss!!! See you there in 15?"

"Sounds good. I love you."

"Love you, too" he says. "Kisses."

He hangs up, and I put everything away.

"This man," I whisper, though the smile doesn't leave my face.

I take my lab coat off and head out the building, getting into my car.

Jim's POV

"Come on, Jim!" begs Simon. "I'll take you to the mall to buy a new suit for the event."

"Simon, I am not really in the mood."

"You are never in the mood now. Ever since you don't see Amelie anymore. And you NEED to go out."

My muscles contract to the sound of her name, her beautiful name.

"Okay, fine, but just for a little while," I say.

"Great. Come on, get into the car."

I get into Simon's car, and he starts it, driving carefully though the streets.
