Amelie's POV

I am walking alone in L.A. I should be taking some things to the lab before going back home. Jim is now at a taping, since The Big Bang Theory has started again, and I wanted to go, but had some last minute things to do. We just arrived from Houston yesterday, and I haven't seen him since last afternoon that we arrived, I only talked to him this morning. I miss him.

I hold the papers on my left hand, and my Starbucks with the right. I finally start walking at the park where Jim and I walk all the time, and I can't help but smile. My mind is just...thinking about him, until...

"Damn," I say, as my phone rings, and I almost drop the papers. Thankfully, I managed to keep them up, and simply answer my phone.

"Hi, Beth!" I say, as I just saw the caller is her.

"Ams!" she says. "Ugh I can't wait for next week that I'll come visit you!"

"Me, too! It has to get here fast," I start. "How's Broadway?"

"Oh it's good. I am a little exhausted, so some time off will do me good."

"Yes, time off is always good."

"Anyways, how's it going with Jim?! Clarisse and Danielle told me about the big scare that you had in Houston with your dad," she says, sounding a little worried. "Everything alright."

"Oh yes everything's fine," I say, not sounding sad or something.

"But what happened?" she asks.

"Well," I start, with a little laugh. "Actually..."

FLASHBACK

"I just honestly don't understand why the hell you are so nervous about talking to my dad," I say, as Jim drives to my parents' house, our suitcases all packed, since we are leaving to the airport after this.

"Because...just yes," he says.

"Jim..." I say, with a small laugh. "You are being so ridiculous. You would watch NFL games with my dad all Sunday, for the love of god. My dad loves you, plus...he would even let us have last minute sleepover plans, hang out, be best friends, why would this freak you out? I mean, if he didn't like you okay then, I get why you're nervous, but...this? Come on."

I just can't stop bringing small laughter, as I see Jim is freaking out, though I AM trying my best to calm his worries down.

"No, Ams...this is different. I mean...yeah, your dad has never hate me or anything, but...being friends is, trusting, hanging out, sharing, laughing, things like that. But being your boyfriend is a lot more. It is taking care of you, protecting you, loving you, as well as it involves kissing, hugging, cuddling, and...you know? It is different. Maybe he likes me as your friend, but as your boyfriend?...You never know."

"Jim..." I start, turning to him. "He accepted Jason, as almost my husband. Come on...the man cheated on me, plus my dad had some doubts about him, and still accepted him. I know my dad has absolutely no doubts about you. I am sure it will be fine. Calm down, darling please."

I can see Jim is trying to take deep breaths, as well as I see that his thumb is moving up and down rapidly, as if shaking.

"Well, I guess it's a normal feeling," he says. "Being nervous when you are about to tell the love of your life's dad that you want his daughter, that you are with her. Even when you know he likes you, you never know how he sees you to take the responsibilities of a boyfriend."
