* one month later *

Jim's POV

It's been one more month already. Our four-month anniversary was last week, and I have to say that living together has been the best thing in the entire world. Not only have we gotten a lot closer than what we already were, which is crazy, but we've done so many things. Today, we will be going to a Christmas fair to choose our Christmas Tree, drink hot chocolate, and then we will decorate it. I now have everything ready to propose to her. I have the ring, which is beautiful, the plan, etc. I will be doing it in a few days.

I run down the stairs, ready to leave, Rufus coming down behind me.

"Hey, Jim," says Amelie, as she sees me walking towards her. "Ready?"

"Ready," I say, placing a smooth kiss on her cheek.

I grab the car keys, and walk her over to the car, opening her door.

FLASHBACK

"Jim!!" says Simon. "Really?! When will you ask her?"

I nod. "Yes. In a little bit more than a month I was thinking."

"Well, if you think that's the right time, then it must be right," he says.

"Yeah. Beth will be arriving later today. I will go talk to her, since she met Amelie when they were both little kids. I told her to tell Amelie she is arriving at night, though she'll be arriving in the afternoon."

"Oh, what will you ask her?"

"Just...several things," I say. "I want to tell one of the girls, but I can't decide who."

"Throw a coin," says Simon. He puts his hand in his pocket and takes out a dime. "Here. Melissa's heads, Mayim is tails. The girl that stays moves to the next round."

I take the coin and look at it carefully. Then put it on top of my thumb and throw it to the air. The coin rolls and rolls, then there is the sound of a small click, and the coin is on the floor. I lean in... "Heads," I say.

"Alright," speaks Simon. "That's Melissa. Now Kaley's tails."

I take the coin from the floor, and put it back on my thumb, then tossing it to the air again. It rolls and rolls, then gravity pulls it, and it is laying on the floor again. "Heads," I say.

"It's Melissa. Are you fine with that?" asks Simon.

"Yeah," I say. "I'm fine with any of them, but I'm scared they'll get mad."

"I think they'll understand," says Simon.

"Yeah, you're right."

"I'm sorry, I got here as fast as I could without making obvious something is going on, just like you told me," says Melissa, as she walks into my door. "Now tell me...WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

I laugh a small laugh and look at Simon, who's smiling.

"Calm down, Melissa. It's nothing bad," I say.

"We just wanted to let you know that Jim will propose to Amelie," speaks Simon.

Melissa just stares at us, surprise showing on her face. "Really?" she asks, a smile appearing out of nowhere.
