Jim's POV

My eyes are wide open, and I can't sleep, as I feel my entire body shaking with nervousness. I turn to look at the clock and read 5:57 am. Wow, I really haven't been able to sleep a bit.

I slowly let go of the beautiful woman sleeping in my arms, trying my best not to wake her up, and stand up from the bed. My eyes turn over to the window, the majestical city of Paris shining in the night; the stars smiling on the sky, as I imagine the cold winter breeze rushing in the empty space of the city.

I close my eyes, and take a seat on the couch, taking deep breaths to try to calm down. I am really excited about this, but at the same time...I can't deny that I'm scared, scared of screwing up, so excited and scared, that I'm not even sleepy.

I put my hands on my face, and slide them down slowly, as I take another look at the clock. 6:02 am, it says. Time goes by so fast when the moment's good; beautiful, but so slow when desperation is eating you all the way from inside, making you want to press the fast forward button.

I sigh, and lean back on the couch, listening to my heart loudly beating on my chest. The clock shows 6:03 am. I silently curse under my breath, and then my eyes turn to Amelie, who's angelically sleeping on the bed, finally making a smile bloom on my face, my problems slowly fading away. I can listen to her gentle breath sounding across the room, perfect; her dark brown hair beautifully messy on the pillow; her soft, pink lips delicately closed, and her body gracefully curled up in my side of the bed.

I smile once again, and start towards it. I stroke her cheek gently, and then cover her with the sheets of the bed, as I then place a sincere kiss on her forehead, then walking to the bathroom, and finally glancing at the clock once again. I won't be able to sleep, that's for sure, so I'd rather make everything ready, and simply go out of the room a little before I had it planned.

I put my suit on, brush my hair, my teeth, and walk out of the bathroom, trying my best best best not to wake her up. I walk around the room, making the least amount of sound in every move I make, and open the compartment where I have everything hidden. I take a letter I wrote to her a few days ago, another white envelop with another letter inside, a bag that holds red and white rose petals, a single red rose, and finally...the black box that holds the beautiful engagement ring. I securely put the box on the inside pocket of my blazer, and then walk towards the bed, placing the letter on the pillow next to her, then making a path of red and white rose petals, from that letter, passing on top of the bed, to the floor, and then all the way to the suite's living room table, where the other letter and the red rose rest.

I smile once more, as I see her sleeping on the bed, everything now ready. I take a quick glance at the clock. I read 6:47 am. Well, it's not that bad anymore, I was leaving at 7:25 am anyways.

I feel my legs weaken and my hands shaking again. I take a deep breath, as I take my black winter coat, and put it on, then going out the door. Now let the game begin.

Amelie's POV

The alarm interrupts my dreaming, as it is beeping loudly. I groan, and turn to shut it off. I move my hand, searching for Jim's arms...but I can't find them. I open my eyes in confusion, and slowly turn to the other side to see if he's there. To my surprise...he isn't. This is weird. I quickly sit up, and...that's when I see it...a red and white path of rose petals leading somewhere. I turn my head to the right side, and I see a letter, which rests at the end of the path, just like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I smile, still some confusion showing on my face, as I take the white envelop in my hands. I open the lid slowly, and take the letter that's inside, reading every word clearly.
