Amelie's POV
It's Monday again. A week has passed since Jim and I met, and I can easily say that has has become my best friend in the world. We've shared so many things this week, so confortable, trustful. I feel like there was a strange, immediate connection between us since the first day we met, like if we were somewhat related.
I get to school and walk to my locker so that I can take out the books that I need for Math class. I insert the password on my lock and take out my notebook, workbook, and-
"DAMN IT!" I shout, jumping. I turn around and guess whom I see...Jim, laughing, almost falling to the floor.
"What the hell, Jim???!!!!" I say, with an annoyed tone, but preventing myself to laugh. "Why do you tickle me when I least expect it?!"
Jim can't stop laughing. I can see tears of laughter starting to form in his eyes.
"Omg, omg," he says, wiping the tears away. "That was so funny."
"At least for you it was, but not for me." I say. He stares at me, trying to contain his laughter as he sees my serious face. "I freaking owe you one, James," I say pointing directly at him, with a menacing tone.
"HA, I would love to see you try."
I roll my eyes at him and close my locker. As it closes I start walking, Jim on my side.
"So," he starts, "how did it go Friday at Colin's party? I couldn't ask during the weekend."
"Oh, I don't really want to talk about it," I say, now sounding a little down.
"Why not?" he asks.
"Because no, Jim." Tears start forming in my eyes as a flash of memories overwhelms my brain. He stares at me a little confused. "Maybe later," I add. He nods and pulls me into a hug. I love his hugs; they are so warm and give you a feeling of peace and protection. He pulls away and stares at me directly in the eyes.
"You know I am your friend and you can count on me right?" I nod. "Good," he adds.
The bell rings, marking the beginning of classes.
"So I guess I'll see you later, Jim," I say, forcing a smile.
"Sure," he says smiling. "Goodbye."
"Bye," I say back.
I turn around and go into the Math classroom. I take a seat in the front of the classroom and take out my notebook and pen. I stop writing, my mind shifting from the real world to the place were my memories take me.
Jim's POV
I am walking to the classroom. My head can't stop replaying Amelie's tears, as she told me she didn't want to talk about the party.
What the hell did that jerk do to her?! I think to myself, feeling frustrated, angry.
I am worried for her, for my friend. Something tells me that I should go back and look for her, but another part of me tells me that I have to give her time, wait until she wants to talk.
I keep walking and...I see him, with his friends laughing, talking. Anger shoots me and I start walking towards him, fast, uncontrolled.
I step in front of his face with my arms crossed. I can feel my body shaking with anger.
"What did you do to her Colin?" I say, sounding angry, serious, but trying to control myself.
Colin turns to look at me. He stands up straight, bringing his chest out to give the feeling that he is the one dominating this place.
