“Come on.” Asher tugged on my hand as we made our way through the maze that was  backstage, dodging people and props.

“Where exactly are we going?” I giggled following close behind him. He pulled me to a stop a smirk on his face.

“Don’t ruin the fun Nora, it’s a surprise.” He kissed my cheek and then began to pull me with him again. We started climbing stairs, going up at least ten flights, before we stopped. “Ready?”

“For what?” I asked skeptically. He didn’t answer, he simply smirked and pulled back the curtain. I gasped, we were so high up it was scary but on the floor I saw a picnic basket and a blanket. “wow.” I breathed walking over to the edge to look down. I saw the stage and felt the heat from the lights because of how close we were to them.

“I bought us dinner.” He told me pulling my gaze away from the view and back at him. “Your favorite.” He handed me a taco from Taco Bell. I looked down at it and then up at  him again, expectantly. Could he have forgotten? I tried to keep my smile on my face put it began to drop anyway. “What?”

“Nothing. It’s perfect.” I told him and gave him a kiss as I sat down on the blanket. I busied  myself with unwrapping the taco and I felt Asher sit behind me. His hands grabbed my waist and he pulled me to his chest. He kissed my neck lovingly and I smiled.

I was overreacting but it wasn’t like him to forget my favorite anything, so I guess I was a little hurt. And it wasn’t like he got it completely wrong either, I liked Taco Bell, I did but my favorite was Taco Johns because they had those Churro things. He was sweet for doing this so I’ll just focus on that.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered in my ear causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach and a chill to run down my spine.

“For what?” I asked after catching my breath and taking a bite of the taco. It might not be my favorite but it was still good.

“I feel like I haven’t made time for you lately. I missed this.” he held me tighter, “I miss you.”

My smile widen and I sighed while leaning into his body more. “You’re busy, I get it. I’ve missed you too.” I told him and then shifted so I could look up at him. “I love you.”

He smiled at me and then brought his lips down to mine. His lips were soft, as usual, but the kiss was different. It was amazing. Perfect. I swear that something about this kiss was different, whether it was the position we were in or whatever. Next thing I knew I was straddling him and pulling at his hair trying to get closer to him. I could feel Asher’s hands gripping my waist, telling me that he was feeling this new thing too.

“Whoa.” A voice made us jump apart. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt but we need you on stage.”

I blushed even more when I saw that it was Hunter that just caught us. Sure I was a twenty something years old but I was still embarrassed to be caught kissing by my brother, especially like that.

“We’ll be right down.” Asher glared at him.
