I dropped my bag by the door and quickly ran to my bedroom. Throwing open the door to my room I jumped onto my bed, with Max right behind me.

“My bed.” I smiled doing a snow angel in the sheets. This was probably thee only thing I missed about being away. Max jumped up on my chest and licked my face cutely and I laughed. “Stop, Maxie.”

“You’re cute, you know that?” Asher’s voice filled the room.

I jumped in surprised and looked over at him as he leaned against the door, butterflies started in the pit of my stomach, like always. “Well, it comes naturally to me, I guess.” He laughed and came into the room and took my hands helping me up. “Aw, I was just getting comfy.”

“Your surprise is ready.” He grinned pulling me closer to him as his arm slipped around my waist.

“But I’m tired.” I whined, but truthfully I was more excited than anything.

“You can sleep when we get there.” He tugged on my hand while pulling me out of the room.

“But my bed is here.” I tried helplessly. He shook his head, like I knew he would and I pouted, “I love my bed.”

“And I love you.” He kissed my nose and I grinned.

“Fine, let’s go see my surprise.”

He led me to the car and I smiled when he held open my door for me. Once we were both in the car he grinned over at me, “Close your eyes.”

“Are you serious?” I asked him in shock.

“Dead.” He told me with a straight face and before he could help it his face lit up in delight.

“You’re an idiot.” I laughed and reached for his hand that was on his lap.

“Let’s go see your surprise, shall we.” He asked as he started backing out. My tiredness left my body as I thought about the surprise. What the hell could take months to plan?

“Let’s.” I smiled.

“Are your eyes closed?” He asked looking over at me from the corner of his eye.

I laughed and squeezed my eyes shut while he squeezed my hand and let out a deep chuckle. It was less than a minute later that the car stopped. “Can I open my eyes now?”

“No!” He almost shouted and I bit my lip. “Not yet.” He added, quieter. He opened the car door and I heard it slam. I was only alone for a few seconds before my door was open and Asher was helping me out. I heard birds chirping and the rustling of the leaves as a soft breeze blew. Wait, was I hearing water? What the heck?

I heard the gravel as we began walking, confused I gripped Asher’s hand more. Where on Earth was he taking me?
