The hot summer sun beat down on my back as I let out a sigh. Relaxing was fun and enjoyable. Plus I’d need it because for the next few months I agreed to tour with the Band.
Everyone was really excited for me to join them on the road, including Hunter, which was surprising considering he hated it when we hung out together when we were younger. But I guess being away from each other for a while really helped with our relationship.
“Nora!” His voice caught me off guard and I jumped in surprise.
“Hunter! You scared me.” I gasped taking off my sunglasses and glaring at him, “How did you get out here anyway?”
Sitting down on one of my lawn chairs, he crossed his legs and clasping his hands behind his head smirking, “The door.”
“Smart ass.” I grumbled sitting up as the rest of the band made their way out of the back door. I groaned realizing my relaxation was over.
“Hey Nora.” Chris smiled sitting beside me resting his arm loosely over my shoulder, “Ready to spend the summer with us?”
“Yeah.” I rolled my eyes shrugging of his arm, “I can hardly contain myself.”
“Sassy.” Ryder commented plopping down in a lawn chair beside Hunter. I stuck my tongue out him but couldn’t help but smile a little.
“You know you love me.” I told them standing up, “I’ve had enough for today I guess. I’m going to go change. Make yourselves at home.” I called over my shoulder going inside the house.
My house was small but then again it was just me so I didn’t need a large house. I lived in the same town I grew up in and just two blocks over from my parents. Grace, my best friend, lived across the street in her house with her boyfriend, Adam.
They met freshman year in college and even though they had their rough patches they were still together after three years. They were completely adorable together and whenever we hung out together I got jealous of them. Not in the jealous way like I liked him. No, I had a boyfriend, Asher. The lead singer for the band and Grace’s brother. I got jealous because Asher has been in the studio lately writing music non stop as they built up to the tour. I know it comes with the life of dating a musician, and a famous one at that, but it was still hard because all I wanted was Asher and I to do couple things.
I changed into clothes that weren’t already packed and threw my hair into a bun on top of my head. Not trusting the boys to be alone in my house I quickly made my way into the back yard, grinning as I saw a new figure. His black hair shined in the sunlight as his shoulders shook with laughter. From behind I could tell it was him and that started the butterflies in the pit of my stomach.
“Asher.” I smiled, his back tensed just the tiniest bit as he turned around to face me. He had a tight smile on his face and his face was flushed.
“Hey.” He stuttered not meeting my eyes. Confused I stared at him wordlessly. Why was he acting so weird? What did I do? “Um, you packed?”
I nodded my eyes landing on my brothers, he was smirking and that was when I noticed that Chris and Ryder were silently laughing uncontrollably “Okay. What’s going on?” I questioned my eyes hardening as I looked at Asher.
“Nothing. Nothing.” He told me quickly, stepping towards me.
“Nothing?”I scuffled rolling my eyes, “because I believe that.”
