Walking down the street with a ring on my finger was different then when I didn’t have one. I know it was stupid, but I kept think people were looking at it. “Do you feel different?” Grace asked, holding open the door to a little boutique.
I nodded walking in with her right behind me, ,”Thanks, yeah I do. I know it’s weird but I feel like people keep looking at me.”
“Yeah, cause you’re absolutely gorgeous.” She smiled sifting through some of the racks.
Shaking my head I made my way to the back of the store as I scanned the racks. After ten minutes of looking around Grace and I each had a handful of things to try on. So, wasting no time at all, we got into dressing rooms.
I ended up getting three shirts, two shorts, and a cute sundress. We were on our way out when I remember that I need shoes.
“We’ll get them at the next store.” Grace muttered as we checked out their depleted shoe selection. I giggled and followed her out. “Scarlet would have loved shopping with us.”
I agreed quickly thinking about Scarlet made me smile, soon Asher and I would have one of our own... well after we're married of course. “I know, it’s too bad she wasn’t feeling well. Maybe we should bring her something?”
“Okay, the kids store is right there. We’ll go after we get the shoes.”
“Perfect.”
Picking shoes was a lot harder than I originally thought. Not that there wasn’t anything to buy in the next store it was just the opposite. I fell in love with all of them! Leaving the shop I had five pairs. I suddenly felt like a shopaholic. Grace, being very modest, only bought three things in total. Well before we walked into the kids store.
“Aw...Look at this.” I held up a onesie. It was teeny tiny and oh so adorable. “I think I’m going to buy it just because of how cute it is.”
“Aw, I want one too.” She smiled picking one for herself before she froze. “I hope this isn’t your way of telling me that you’re pregnant.”
“God no.” I shook my head quickly, “I’m on the pill.”
“They’re not 100% effective.” She muttered before going back to looking through the clothes.
“Wait.” I held her hand to stop what she was doing, “What do you mean? You’re not...are you?”
Grace seemed to blink back tears, “I think, I mean, I might be.”
“You might be?” I asked cautiously.
“I’m late.” She bowed her head in disgrace.
“Come on.” I pulled on her arm dragging her to the back of the store where the test lay. “We’ll find out then, okay. Whatever happens, I’m here.”
She nodded and grabbed a box of three. “I can’t take them in my room, he’ll know something is up. I love him, but I don’t want to either scare him or disappoint.”
“Simple. You’ll take them in my room.” We agreed and then bought Scarlet an outfit before checking out. I forgot that I had the onesie still and bought it. Oh well it was cute.
In the hotel we were greeted with the boys, as they signed autographs in the lobby. Asher looked busy with a fan so I decided to just walk by. “Hey.” His voice caught me off guard and Grace jumped next to me, her face pale.
“Hey.” I smiled and kissed his cheek and then shot Grace a look.
“You okay Grace?” He asked watching her carefully.
