“Hello?” my voice was shaky when I answered the phone.

“This is Tsuzuki. Is Mr. Kogami home?”

            “Vice-principal?” my heart seemed heavy.

“Is Mr. Kogami back yet?” he asked again.

“No,” I shook my head even though he couldn’t see, “he hasn’t come back yet,”

            “I see,” he sounded uneasy.

“Would you like to leave a message?”

“I haven’t received the report about the groping incident,”

“I see. I’ll have him call you as soon as he gets home,”

“No, it’s getting late. Please tell him to give use a report tomorrow at school,”

“Alright,” I said as I hung up the phone.

Now I was really worried. If the vice-principal hadn’t gotten the report yet, did that mean something had happened to Yamato, preventing him from telling the school?

Just as my worries really began to rise, I heard the front door open, making my heart jump. Running into the living room, I saw Yamato fall onto the couch.

            “I’m home,” he sighed.

“Welcome back,” the words naturally flowed out of my mouth.

As our eyes met, we both blushed in embarrassment.

“This seems newlywed-like, doesn’t it?” he said, looking away as he loosened his tie.

“Yeah,” I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

            “Did you eat already?”

“No,” I shook my head, “Not yet?”

            “What?” he looked surprised, “Really?”

“I waited so I could eat with you,” I looked away, blushing again.

            “I see,”

“Do you still want the Salisbury steak?”

            “Yea,” he smiled, “I do,”

“Alright, I’ll get it ready,” I walked back into the kitchen to finish up dinner.

He was quiet for a while, then walked over to join me in the kitchen. Normally he’d make light conversation, but he stayed silent.

“Anything wrong?” I asked as I looked at him.

“No,” he shook his head, “Nothing. I’m gonna go change,”

Yamato began to walk towards the bedroom, but paused for a moment. Turning back towards me, he smiled.

“Thanks,” he patted my head, then walked back towards the room.

I was stunned for a moment, surprised by how sweet and gentle his smile was. Was it because I waited for him to eat dinner? Shaking my head, I knew that that couldn’t be it. If it would, it would make me beyond happy.

“Eat up!” I smiled as we finally sat down to eat.

Yamato took a bite of his steak and I anxiously watched his expression. He was quiet as he chewed, but smiled.
