Chapter 1

Home.

Here it was right in front of me.

The Right Note.

The best Music Camp in California.

"Sophie!" I heard Erika, one of my best friends in camp, yell.

"Erika!" I yelled and ran to her.

"Girl, I've missed you so much!" Erika said and I hugged her tighter.

"Missed you too, Erika." I said.

"Forgetting about me?" Sara said. Sara was my other best friend here.

"How could we?" I said and pulled Sara in a hug.

"I'm so excited for this year's final show. I'm defiantly going to do a good job! I can just feel it!" Erika said.

"As humble as ever." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh shut up! Everybody knows I'm the best bass guitarist in this camp." Erika said and Sara smacked her.

"Those who are too arrogant always get slapped in the face in the end." Sara said and I laughed.

"Can I be the one that slaps her?" I asked with a smirk.

"Be my guest." Sara nodded.

"Touch me and I will cry." She said and I laughed.

"Really, Erika? That's the best you could say? Why don't you threaten me?" I asked.

"Because honestly, I know you'd kill me before I even touch you." She said and I laughed.

"True." I nodded and picked up my bag and cello case.

We walked to our cabin together as the rest of the campers greeted each other.

Erika, Sara and I have been cabin mates since we first joined this camp. We used the same cabin every year here, so we went to our shared cabin.

"Man, I missed this place." Sara muttered.

"Tell me about it." Erika breathed as I threw my bag on my bed.

We spent half an hour unpacking our bags and placing our stuff in the room.

"Come on, let's head down to the camp fire area." Erika said as I placed my cello on my bed.

"Fine." I said and walked with the girls to the middle of camp base.

"Well, well. If it isn't Sophie. Did you miss me?" The arrogant, voice that I despised the most said.

"Adam. Actually, every time I see you, I feel like committing suicide." I glared at him.

"Because of how hot I am?" He winked.

"Because of how revolting and annoying you are." I said and turned around.

"Whatever." He said and left.

"And the hatred gets stronger every year." I said.

"Oh forget about Adam. You're here to have fun!" Sara said.

"And I will have fun." I nodded determinedly.

"Musicians! Welcome and Welcome Back! The Right Note is always happy to see new faces and old ones! So of course by now you know about the final show, even if you're new! But this year we have a new thing!" Terry, one of the counselors, said.

"As usual, there will be the normal individual performances but at the same time we added duets. We paired up people together so you two will be a pair!" Ron, the head counselor, said.
