Chapter 21
"Adam! Adam! Adam! Adam!" I yelled and ran for Adam and jumped on his back.
"Hey, Soph. Why the excitement?" Adam asked.
"Erika fed me too many sweets!" I said and kissed his cheek.
"You're too jumpy." He laughed and wrapped his arms around my legs.
"Thank you!" I grinned and then Troy appeared.
"What's up with her?" He asked, gesturing to me.
"Sugar rush." Adam replied.
"I want to fly! Adam, throw me over a mountain! I feel like I can fly! I believe!" I said.
"This isn't Peter Pan, Soph." He said and laughed.
"Oh well. Worth a shot!" I said.
"Want to go practice?" He asked.
"You bet!" I said and Adam walked away with me on his back to the hill.
Once we were in the house we sat across each other and started playing both pieces.
"Hey, we're actually starting to sound really really really good!" Adam said.
"I know!" I exclaimed.
"Let's go on to the next piece." He said and I agreed.
Adam's phone started ringing and he picked it up instantly.
"Oh. We're coming. Yeah, we were just in a further place in the forest practicing so we didn't hear the call." Adam said.
"Okay, we're on our way." Adam said and hung up.
"There's an announcement going to happen and Ron noticed that we weren't there so he called. Let's go." Adam said and grabbed my hand.
We ran down the hill and made our way to the camp fire.
"There you are." Ron said.
"Sorry, Ron. We were practicing." I said.
"It's okay, as long as you two are finally getting along." Ron said.
"Better than you think." Adam grinned and held up our hands that we're entangled.
"No... Really?! Finally! After all these years you noticed?" Ron asked me and I laughed.
"Yeah yeah, c'mon Ron. Tell us what you got." Adam said and we sat down next to our friends.
"Well, my announcement is about the final show. The solo has been cancelled. This year it's only about teamwork and partnership." Ron said and a lot of people cheered.
I'm guessing they weren't really focused on their solos.
"That's it. And oh! Let's give a huge round of applause for Adam. Because after all these years, he finally got Sophie." He said and everybody clapped and cheered.
"Really? What is wrong with you people? Don't you have a life?" I asked with laughter.
"Carry on." Ron said and everybody went back to their daily activity.
"Aw man. You got her?" One of the boys in our year said. I think his name was Owen or Liam.
"Yep." Adam said proudly.
"I was just going to try talking to her." Owen or Liam said.
"Well come fifty feet near her and you won't live to see the day you graduate." Adam said.
"Chill bro." Owen or Liam said and then I growled at him.
"You don't want that at all." Adam said and the boy started running away.
