Chapter 18
I woke up to the feeling of beautiful warmth and a hard pillow. There was soft sunlight coming through the window that was brushing my face.
Wait. This isn't my cabin. This isn't my bed. And this isn't my pillow.
Oh. This isn't even a pillow.
My eyes widened when I realized I was in someone's arms, sleeping on his bare chest.
"AH!" I screamed and jumped backwards then my scream died when I saw Adam in front of me with panicked, beautiful eyes.
"What?!" He yelled.
"Oh. It's you. IT'S YOU! AH!" I screamed again and ran to the bathroom.
"You're over reacting!" He yelled.
I came back to the room, laughing.
"What happened though? How did this happen? PLEASE TELL ME I'M WEARING CLOTHES!" I said with wide eyes.
"Yes, you're fully clothed." Adam laughed.
"What happened last night?" I asked.
"We were sitting and talking on the hammock, then you fell asleep mid sentence. So I contemplated on wether I should leave you to die in the cold and get bitten by all kinds of bugs or take you in here. I almost went with the first option if it wasn't for my conscious." He said and I hit him.
"So I carried you in and put you here. I fell asleep, too. But I don't know how we ended up like that." He explained.
"Oh. Well thanks for not leaving me out there." I said.
"I should've but I was a thoughtful, gentleman." He said.
"Haha, sure." I said and checked the clock.
"Shoot! We have to run! They're going to be here in ten minutes! They're going to expect us in our cabins in bed!" I said and his eyes widened.
He jumped from bed and put on his shirt and shoes. We ran like maniacs down the hill after shutting the door and parted ways to go to our separate cabins.
Hopefully, nobody saw us.
I kicked off my flip flops and threw myself in bed. I pretended to be asleep and relaxed.
But then my phone rang so I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"It's me, Adam. Did you make it?" He asked.
"Yep. You?" I asked.
"Yeah. I think I hear the bus. Bye, Soph." He said and hung up.
I put my phone back on the bedside table and closed my eyes again.
"We're back!" Erika sang once she entered the cabin.
"She's sleeping!" Sara whisper yelled at Erika.
"Hey guys." I said sleepily and stretched.
"Sorry for waking you up." Erika said.
"It's okay, Ri. Was it fun?" I asked.
"Yep! We had so much fun. What about you?" Erika asked.
"Yeah, I practiced with Adam and then he pushed me in the lake again." I said.
"Typical day for Adam and Sophie." Sara said.
"Sara and Cameron cannot keep their hands off each other anymore." Erika said and I laughed.
"Be careful, Sara." I teased and winked at her.
"You should be careful with all the 'practicing' with Adam." Sara smirked and I scowled at her.
