{Chapter Fourteen} I blasted drake's song Hotline bling much to Khalid's protest and sang on top of my lungs, my feet crossed on the dashboard as I moved my head side to side while snapping my fingers. "You used to call me on my cell phone! Late night when you need my love! Call me on my cell phone, late night when you need my love and I know when that hotline bling. That can only mean one thing. I know when that hotline bling, that can only mean one thing. Ever since I left the city you, got a reputation for yourself now!"
"Winter, you're annoying the hell out of me. What happened when you were gone? You lost some brain cells?" Khalid leaned forward to turn down the volume and leaned back in his seat, driving us back home.
"Hey! Watch your mouth." He looked at me with an amused smirk and I stuck my tongue at him. "Don't act like you didn't miss me. Your life would suck without me, admit it." I turned my body in the seat and poked his cheek. "Admit it."
"I thought I lost you." No matter how we joke about it, what happened was not something slightly. I was lucky to be alive, thanks to him. I won't tell him that, just in case he gets too cocky about it. "Seeing that machine going dead made me realize that without you, there would be nothing, nothing else would matter."
"Aw, you're making me emotional. Don't do that." I looked away from him and bit my inner cheeks. "You're making me feel guilty too." He grabbed my hand and I turned to look at him, watching as he kissed my hand.
"Don't, you don't have anything to feel guilty about. Let's not think about what happened okay? The most important thing is that you're here now, that's all that matters." I leaned forward and kissed him on the lips, leaning my head on his arm.
"You used to call me on my cell phone!" I leaned up and sang loudly in his ear. He cursed under his breath and pulled his ear away from my face. "Late night when you need my love!"
"What the hell Winter?! Can you shut up?" He turned to look at me annoyed and then back at the road, his face angrily. I giggled loudly and leaned toward him again. "Don't! Don't even try." I pouted my lips at him and tipped my fingers on his jeans, my teeth biting my bottom lip.
"Why? I love Drake." I talked with pouted lips as I battered my long lashes on my puppy dog eyes, moving my fingers around his jeans. "Stop it Winter!" He barked out as he snatched my wrist and pulled my hand away. "Winter..." He growled out threateningly as I went back to his jeans, zipping down his zipper. I looked up at him and flapped my lashes at him with an innocent smile on my face.
"What?" I slid my hand in his jeans and smiled triumphantly when he didn't stop me. "Let's go somewhere else, anywhere you want but not home." He sighed deeply and nodded his head. "Yay!" I slid my hand out and zipped up his jeans, leaning back in my seat.
"Where you about to give me a hand job to get me to agree to take you somewhere?" He asked me amused and I looked away, turning pink. He let out a deep laugh and made me even more embarrassed. "I feel violated."
"Shut up." I crossed my arms and looked out of the window with a roll of an eye but suddenly turned sad, tears coating my eyes as I blinked them away. "I saw my mom." I turned to look at Khalid who glanced at me then back at the road.
"She made me promise her to buy her some time. I don't know how I'm going to keep them from turning off the machine but one thing I know is if I don't succeed, I'll be haunted forever, and every single person I love will die."
"It's okay, we'll sure find a way to keep your mom on that machine." Khalid said as he gave me his hand, giving mine a squeeze. "I have the perfect place in mind." I gave him a smile as he planted a kiss on my hand and drove us to the place he had in mind.
