Khalid's POV (Yay! First, I think. Have I written a Khalid's POV before? I don't remember)
{Chapter Thirty} "Winter, I'm so...Winter?!" I rushed toward her and took her hand in mine, my widened eyes and parted lips staring at the grey veins all over her arms and legs almost reaching her face as it crept around her neck. The necklace around her neck glowed again and the grey veins started to disappear, making her jolt awake with a gasp. "Oh God, thank God you're okay." I pulled her into a tight hug and brushed my hands up and down her back.
"I know what to do for this to stop happening." She said breathlessly and I pulled away from her to stare into her eyes. "She needs blood, that's why she's drinking from me. She's just hungry." I stared at her speechless, not knowing what to say.
"We can try, it's the least we can do. She probably doesn't mean to hurt me. We can actually help her and at the same time help me." She begged as she sounded desperate and vulnerable, her eyes staring into mine broken.
I sighed deeply and squeezed her hand. "We can try, but there's a big possibility that it won't work. The curse was put on by witches, it has to be as powerful as them for it to work." I told her as I closed my eyes for a few moments, breathing out slowly.
"I will try and find some blood for you in the hospital." I leaned in to kiss her forehead and patted her hand as I pulled away from her. "Will you be okay?" I asked her worried, not wanting to leave after what happened.
"Yes, I'll be fine. This necklace will protect me the best it can." I looked at her unsure but nodded my head in defeat. "I'll be fine, go." She ushered me away and I gave her a short smile as I turned around to walk toward the door, getting out.

"What do you mean you need blood?" Philip hissed quietly as he pulled me to a side. "I can't give you blood bag from the hospital and how do you even know that is going to work? What if something goes wrong?"
"Don't you think I know that? I have a mate in there about to die if we don't do something and right now, a blood bag is our only solution so if you don't want one of your patients to die? I suggest you to start looking for blood bags."
I gritted out at him between my teeth before turning around to walk back toward Winter's room. When I entered she was fast asleep, I walked toward her and pulled the sheets closer to her. She moved a bit in discomfort but was soon relaxed when I brushed her forehead slightly, tugging her hair back.
"Khalid..." She mumbled barely hearable and I hummed at her, my fingers running through her hair. "Please, help me." She mumbled again in distress, her voice coming out soft and vulnerable.
I sighed deeply and leaned down, my forehead against hers as I brushed her hair back. We stayed like that for God knows how long, her temperature was risen and her moanings became persistent and frequently.
I sighed deeply with eyes closed, shifting back in my seat as I leaned down with my elbows on my knees with hands running roughly through my hair. I yanked up and cursed under my breath, my body running around as I paced.
I ran a hand over my face and stared at her, this is all my fault. I caused this to her, I was the reason she was in pain and I couldn't do anything about it. I have to stay back and watch her suffer, something I can't and won't allow myself to.
She hissed with a grunt as she woke up and bit her bottom lip as she pushed herself up. "Khalid?" I sighed with a short smile and walked toward her, taking her hand in mine. "Are you okay?"
