Winter's POV
{Chapter Twenty Eight} The moment my father called me and told me that my mother was in the hospital, I didn't think twice about it and went to the hospital immediately. "Dad." I rushed toward him and hugged him with a deep sigh. "How is mom?"
"She's okay. You have a huge bump already." My father said with a frown as he looked down at me with confusion written on his face. "How is that even possible?" My father asked me in astonishment but I wished that I could tell him, I myself didn't know why.
"My stomach just grew out of nowhere." I replied back with a shrug. "Anyways, can I see her?" My father nodded his head and walked with me toward her room, opening the door for me. "Thank you."
"Winter...." My mother said my name and I rushed to her side, pulling her into a tight hug. "You have a bump." My mother pulled me away and touched my stomach, brushing it up and down with her hand. "Does Khalid know?"
"Yes, I told him about it yesterday when I called him." She looked up at me with something in her eyes that I couldn't decipher. I stepped back and looked at her with a frown. "What's wrong?" I touched my stomach as I stared at her somewhat worried.
She shook her head at me with a wave and smiled at me. "Nothing, how's Khalid's grandma doing?" I stared at her for a few moments but decided to let it go for now. I sighed and pulled a chair next to her bed, sitting down.
"She's fighting, but Khalid told me that they said she doesn't have much left, maybe by tomorrow or the next day." I sighed again and rubbed my stomach, hissing with pressed eyes as I gritted my teeth together.
"Winter, honey. Are you okay?" My mother asked me worried as she tried to get out of bed to help me but she had wires on her so she pressed the bell. "Hey, breathe. Look at me, breathe." I looked up at my mother and breathed in from my nose and let it out from my mouth slowly, my chest rising up and down.
I doubled over as I clutched at my stomach, my fingers bunching my dress as I parted my lips at the pain shooting through my system. My mother pressed the bell again repeatedly. "Where the hell are the nurses in here?!"
"Mom, my baby." I gasped breathlessly through the pain and gritted my teeth together at the sobs threatening to escape from my lips as my body cringed from the pain shooting through my body. "I need Khalid, I need Khalid." I leaned abruptly in the seat as tears streamed down my face.
She took the wires off and got out of the bed, her hands touching my face and tilting it down for me to look at her in the eyes. "Breathe, just breathe. Close your eyes and breathe. Think of something nice, talk to your baby and just breathe."
I fixed my eyes at her and breathed in and out slowly, her eyes giving me the strength I needed to keep calm and just breathe. I closed my eyes and with a deep breath, I started to think of Khalid. I breathed shakily with a tremble as I tried to relax and breathe calmly.
The door opened and the nurse walked in. "Get out, I don't need you anymore. I said get out." The nurse looked at mother with a look but did what she told her. The door closed behind us and I knew she left.
"Are you feeling better?" I nodded my head at her and removed her hands from my face, leaning my head back as I breathed in and out. I ran circles around my stomach while I breathed in and out, the pain subsiding.
"Thank you." I thanked her and received a smile back from her as she leaned up, kissing my forehead before pulling away to stare down at me. "I don't know what's wrong, my stomach keeps doing that."
My mother looked at me for a moment before she said. "It's not your stomach doing that, it's the baby. You need to call Khalid."
