Last chapter of the marathon for today, I hoped to give you guys more but sadly it's 10:30 and I have to be up at 5:30 to work. My days are hectic in the ER, so many sick people and accidents.
Winter's POV
{Chapter Forty} I was so ecstatic when Philip told me that we could go home. With everything that happened we didn't even had time to make a nursery room for Tatiana, not even clothes. So when we got out of the hospital, we went shopping for baby clothes and the usual things baby needed. Tatiana was still little so she could sleep with us in the meantime.
The cart was full, if you know what I mean, and if you didn't get the memo. I had to grab another cart. I was pushing one, and my super boyfriend carried Tatiana and pushed a cart. "Winter, if you're going to buy the whole store let me know instead of wasting time picking them one by one. I'll just buy the whole store."
I rolled my eyes at how dramatic Khalid was being and continued to grab more clothes. "What? She's not even a year old yet." I groaned when Khalid said that and put the clothes back, pushing the cart.
I looked down at my list to see if I had anything. A car seat. It's actually illegal to take your baby home from the hospital without one. Oops. A crib, basic clothing: shirts that snap in front, onesies, kimonos and seasonal getups (coats, sleeping sacks). Of course I picked some from a month or two. Newborns grow fast, and I want her to wear everything!
I can't wait to dress her up, aw. Okay, focus! Caps to keep that little head warm regardless of the weather. Diapers, a nail clipper, there are really teeny ones just for babies so cute. Cotton squares for wiping after changes due to wipes being too strong for sensitive newborn skin.
A baby bathtub, washcloths and towels. A basic first-aid kit with a thermometer. Diaper-rash cream. A mobile or soft books for the baby to look at as her eyes begin to track objects. Stroller and sling, breast pump, special bras, pats to put inside of my bra for leaking breasts and a lot of pacifiers.
Tatiana started to get a bit uneasy due to her being hungry so we stopped shopping and went to pay. When the cashier saw all we had, her eyes bulged. And when she saw the price that we had to pay she coughed loudly.
"Are you sure that you want to go with all that?" She asked unsure and I raised one eyebrow at her, taking Tatiana from Khalid to sooth her. I nodded my head and Khalid walked to the cashier, pulling his card. "Checking or saving account?"
"Checking." The woman nodded her head and punched on the machine, while I soothed Tatiana. When Khalid finished paying, we walked out of the store with people who worked there carrying the stuff we bought. They said they will bring us the other stuff we bought by tomorrow morning.
Khalid opened the car doors and the trunk to let them put the stuff inside of the car. I sat in the back with Tatiana as they finished putting the stuffs in the trunk, closing it. Khalid opened the door behind the driver seat and put the car seat in the back, securing it.
"Done, finally we can go home." I smiled at him and meet him halfway for a kiss, smiling against his mouth as he gave my lips one last peck. He pulled himself out of the car and closed the door, making his way to the front door.
He started the engine and drove away from the parking lot onto the road. I looked down at Tatiana who stared back at me with a cute pout and a face that said feed me or I'll cry until you do. I laughed at her face and leaned her closer to kiss her forehead.
I leaned her back down and with my other hand I carefully removed one side of the dress I was wearing and bra, the moment my breast was out she pressed her body against mine, her lips parting as she covered my nipple with her mouth and sucked.
