Christopher's POV
I stared at the man across the table from me. His almost pitch black eyes had a glint in them that I knew wasn't good but I didn't care. He had said that he could help me get Lesa back.
Not too long after I escaped the cellars of the pack, he had found me. He told me to follow him if I wanted a better chance of getting my mate back. If I get her back then I get my child too so of course I followed him.
He took me to a house on the side of a mountain that once you entered was actually a bunch of tunnels and passages going into the mountain. It was a clever disguise if I'm honest.
He lead me down on the of tunnels to get to this room but on the way there was three other forks in the passage. If he left me alone here then I would probably get lost trying to find my way back.
The room wasn't carved out rock like you would expect. This room, like I assumed ever room in this place would be, was carved out inside the mountain but had a wooden floor, walls, and ceiling.
"So how could you help me get my mate back? I will leave the second you say anything that could harm her. She is carrying my pup." He chuckled at me and moved his pitch black hair out of his eyes. It was obviously dyed but I didn't say anything. This guy wants to seem as terrifying as he could, who was I to stop him?
"Don't worry. No harm will come to her or your pup as long as you help me." His eyes looked as if they were judging everything about me. They stared at everyone in a way that was saying, "I can see your past, present, and could make or break your future."
"You never answered my question." His eyes did that thing again. As if he was daring everyone and everything around him to challenge him.
That is the kind of person that he is. Creepy. Scary. Intimidating. He is Malum.
I got up out of my seat and followed him out of the room. We came down a passage that had many doors along the side. I didn't know if I should be disgusted because it reminded me of the pack house or amazed because they did this inside of a mountain.
"If you choose to stay then one of these rooms will be yours. If you succeed in helping me achieve my current goal then I will move you to a separate hallway and into a bigger room. Big enough that you can have a small nursery section for your child. But first you have to agree." I rolled my eyes at him. He was really annoying but he was manipulative enough to the point that I knew if anyone could help me get Lesa, it would be him.
"And if I don't choose to stay?" This man was like an Alpha to everyone here which made me want to test him. I was born into an Alpha bloodline. I deserved to be an Alpha. Was Malum even born into an Alpha bloodline? I will spend sometime getting these people to like me. To trust me. To be loyal to me. And after I have my mate and pup, I will challenge him.
By then my life should almost be complete. I will have my mate and pup. I will be an Alpha like I was supposed to be in the first place. All I have left after that is destroy that god awful pack with that useless runt.
"Then you won't leave in one piece. By the time you hear what is going to need to be done you would have known too much. I can not let you get out with any plans. For all I know your mate could be waiting for you to return to that pack at any moment and her brother wanting information on us."
"Why would Xavier care about you?" He chuckled and I could basically feel him rolling his eyes at me.
"Because I am like the Alpha of the rogues. They all listen to me, at least most of them do. Some of the ones who don't listen to me I leave alone and others I dispose of.
" The first thing I said, about you not leaving, is why I destroyed your pack." I stiffened. He what?
"What the hell are you talking about?" He stopped and turned around.
"There were some people who got out with information and went to your pack. We came in the night and destroyed your pack." I bit my tongue. My father died in that attack and so did-
She's just a useless runt, I tell myself.
"I couldn't let anyone know where I was. Let alone someone with the information."
"So why do you need me?" The urge to kill him was strong.
"You are going to help me get that little runt." My eyebrows scrunch together in confusion. What the hell would he want with the useless runt? Surly he wasn't stupid enough to want her.
"Why?" He turned back around and continued walking.
"Follow me if you truly want to find out." I followed him down a passageway that leaned downwards. It was a bit hard to keep balance while walking down it but I managed. Meanwhile, Malum looked as if he did this daily. He could have for all I know.
We came to a place with a steal door. Malum took out a key ring and unlocked two separate locks. Inside was a cellar that looked like the ones I was stuck in but only ten times worse.
We walked towards the back and to glass door but it was too dark for me to see anything inside of it. Malum flicked on a light switch revealing what was inside.
There was a boy, battered with fading bruises. He had dirty blonde hair that had blood every here and there. He was wearing brown khaki pants that had tears every here and there and was shirtless. His chest had a scar or two but besides that there was bruises covering him like the rest of his skin.
"He has information that I need but he hasn't talked for the almost two years that he has been here. We have tried torture starvation, and almost any other thing we could think of. There is one thing that might make him talk though. And that is that little runt Celestial." At her name the boy stiffened but didn't look up at us.
"Who is he?" He seemed kind of familiar but I just couldn't put my tongue on his name.
"This, Christopher, is Lycer."
