This book is just going to go on forever, I don't know when to end it

Xavier's POV

I stared at the blonde man across from me.

He sat in my office with a bored and annoyed look on his face. He slouched in the chair in front of my desk. I resisted the urge to rolled my eyes at him.

"How old were you when you when you met Celeste?" He sat up a little straighter but started to tap his foot nervously. It was such a simple question yet he is nervous. That only made me want to know the answer more and why it made him so nervous.

"That's a complicated question." I rose an eyebrow while trying not to growl at him for not answering his question. Even if he is on my land he was still a rogue. I haven't accepted him into this pack and I don't plan on it anytime soon. And even though he was still a rogue, he is on my land none the less and I am the Alpha here.

"How is such a simple question complicated?" He glared at me.

"Why are you the one asking questions? No matter what my age is I have known Celestial longer than you have. I am her protector. My job is to protect her and-"

"And yet when she returned she was injured and sick," I growled out.

He pushed himself out of the chair abs started to pace. Then he sneered at me, "The sickness was due to you not being able to be a proper mate. You were away from her for too long. If you were there to protect her from being taken in the first place-"

"She wouldn't have been taken in the first place if it wasn't for you," I sneer. He stiffened and sat back down, putting his head in his hands.

"I know," he admitted. "I know but it's not like I planned for this to happen." He took his hands away from his face and looked me straight in the eyes. "The day that the experiments came after me, she was with me. I made her run. It was the best I could do to protect her. They weren't supposed to find out about her in the first place but-"

"But they did," I interrupted. He glared at me.

"Stop interrupting,", he hissed and this time I was the one to get out of my chair. I pushed out of my chair and growled at him.

"I'm not going to tolerate your shit. You may be Celeste's best friend but you are nothing to me. Your not of any value other than to make Celeste happy. If you make her unhappy for even a second, I'll have you out of this pack with every warrior after you. Do you understand?"

"I'm her protector. It's not my job for her to like me. It's my job to protect her. Wouldn't you want to protect her?" He looked at me quizzically.

"Of course I would. She's my mate, my Luna."

"Even if it meant she would hate you? Even if it was for a while?"

I thought about it. Of course I would. I love her and I would rather have her hate me and be safe then have her die loving me.

So I nodded.

"That's why I need to stay. At least for now. I need to make sure Malum doesn't try to get to her again. One day I will leave and you don't have to deal with me anymore. She is going to hate me for leaving but I have to kill Malum to get him off of my trail. Off of Celestial's trail. And then when I know she is safe from that situation I'll have to leave again. I have other business to attend to. I'll do all of this even if she is going to hate me because in the end it will mean that she will truly be safe."

"What business?" He smirked and shook his head.

"Not even Celestial knows so there is no way I'm telling you." I gritted my teeth but nodded in understanding.

"Xavier?" I looked up as Celeste walked in my office. She smiled at Lycer before returning her gaze to me.

"Yes little one?"

Lycer scoffed. "Little one? That's the worst-" Celeste and I glared at him.

"Is everything alright?" Celeste nodded, tucking a strand of her short brunette hair behind her ear.

"Yeah, of course it is. Your mother was just wondering if you were going to join us for lunch." A smile made its way to my lips. I was really hoping that her and my mother would get along. They are both so important to me.

"Of course I will. We'll invite Lesa too." A gorgeous smile made its way onto her lips and she nodded excitedly.

She turned to the blonde. "Lycer, you'll come too right?" He smiled at her and nodded. He got up and ruffled her hair, making her frown.

"I wouldn't miss it." I walked over to Celeste and pulled her to me. Lycer coughed awkwardly and stuttered out, "I uh I t-think I'll leave you two. I'll see you in a bit Celestial. Xavier, keep in mind what we talked about." I nodded and he walked out of the room.

"Did you and my mother get along?" She nodded with a bit of hesitance but I brushed it off.

"She showed me some pictures of a younger you." I groaned in embarrassment. She giggled. "You were one of the dorkiest looking kids I have ever seen."

"It wasn't that bad. . . Was it?" She shrugged.

"Maybe." I groaned again.

"Just give it to me. I can take honesty."

"Just three words." She giggled again. "Big. Round. Glasses."

"I thought I burned all of those pictures."

"It was actually kind of cute." I smirked.

"You're an awful liar." She frowned at me. "But I love you anyways." I pressed my lips against hers, feeling them turn up into a smile. I'd do anything to make her smile.

You have no idea how hard it was to write this chapter.

Neko Atsume! I'm addicted. I renamed Tubbs 'TubbsTheGiantShite' (no spaces because that is the only way it would fit.

I need to stop getting attached to characters that are in the thing for like five minutes. aka that one guy in San Andreas

A few of you were rude in the A/N I posted. Sorry that I just wanted to share that milestone with you guys!

My brother got a cat (I don't have mine yet) and he is a bum. I'm convinced he is trying to shred my finger apart like how the one guy in The Alpha's Oracle (seriously one of the best werewolf books out there) had his face shredded.

Huge spoiler that I am going to give you! If you don't want to read it you can skip this part and that will be all!

Lycer saying he will have to leave is going to be a part of the (drum roll) sequel. Oh and that spoiler about Lycer's mate I gave to a few of you, I changed my mind! That is not going to happen.

I'm going to go now.
