"Niall, I need to talk to you about something." I had to wait until it was just him and I again before trying to talk. I'm sure he wouldn't want to talk about this in front of the other lads, even though they both know about it. Him and I are the only ones that know the most about it.

"What is it?" He puts his phone down, picking up on the seriousness in my voice.

"It's about Jackie. I know you saw the marks too, you just don't want to say anything. I understand why, but I hated seeing her go through it the first time." He sighs.

"I didn't say anything because we were together for a short time and I didn't want to make it all about that. It is important, but I didn't want her to be in a bad mood the rest of the time we saw each other." He pauses, looking down at his hands. "Did she talk to you about it?" I notice how he's getting fidgety now.

"Ya, she did yesterday."

"Do you know why she started again?"

"She was getting better, but then she remembered what she was trying to get away from, she remembered the things that tear her apart. Now she's back at the start." That rhymed and I didn't try. I can't say that aloud, not now.

"I just don't understand. She was ok when I left, I asked her."

"Just because you asked her doesn't mean she wasn't lying. In case you don't remember she lied about being ok for years when she was a teenager. It wasn't until she moved in with you that she admitted it was a problem." He looks up at me.

"How do you know all this?"

"She told me a while ago. She may be your girlfriend, but she's also my best friend."

"I just feel horrible about it. I don't like not being there for her when she's like this."

"That makes three of us."

Jackie's POV

I can't stop my mind from racing. Not knowing who's coming to the house today, and Harry. I've never had people like Niall and Harry care so much. Before it just seemed like nobody cared. My phone buzzes and Ben looks over at me. I'm driving him home first, then I'm going home.

"You know, if you want, I could go to your house for awhile?"

"You don't trust me alone with Niall's friends, do you?"

"No....I just-"

"Ya, you don't trust them." He doesn't say anything. "Niall wouldn't tell them they could stay at the house if he didn't trust them home alone with me. He's not that careless." I pull into his driveway.

"I'm just worried. I care about you."

"I know." I roll my eyes at him.

"Thanks for bringing me along for the ride." I lean across the middle divider and give him a hug.

"Of course. Hey, everything with your parents will be fine. Just don't let what they say go to your head. If that's all you can financially afford, and you like living there, then just don't pay any mind."

"Thanks." He smiles then gets his stuff out of the back seat. Smiling and waving at me before buzzing into his apartment. While I'm sitting here I take the time to check my phone.

'Are you home yet?'

'No, just dropped Ben off. Going to get more puppy kibble, then I'll be home.'

'Ok, the guys said they'd be there in about half an hour.'

'Ok thanks.'

I head to the nearest store and head inside. I get what I need and get right out, trying to be quick. I make my way home and my phone buzzes in my pocket a few times. Ignoring it I try to get home. I don't want Niall's friends getting home before I do, but I also don't want to crash. My phone buzzes again and I turn the radio on to drown out the silence. I pass the shop and I see my coworkers there. I should probably go to work tomorrow. Then again tomorrow's Monday, and Monday's are not fun. Maybe I'll go in late? I pull into the driveway and there are no cars here or people standing around so they're probably not here yet.
