Niall's POV
I grabbed my mail before I headed into the studio. Simon wanted us to come into the studio now instead of waiting until last minute. So instead of cramming it in in December, we're going some days in October and November, that way we'll only be in the studio every night in December. I'm waiting for one of the guys to finish up cause I'm up after him. I picked up my mail and looked through it. One from Jac. She hasen't written in a month.
"Lads! I have a letter from Jackie!" Liam emerged from the booth.
"Well read it out loud!" Louis said, not waiting for anyone else to speak. We're all excited. I tore it open and pulled it out.
"Dear Niall,
I'm so sorry I didn't write back yet. I've been sort of busy.
This is hard for me to tell you over a letter. On September 17 I got shot three times in the chest. I had just read your letter actually. I had put it under my plate when we went through a small village. Someone was acting strange so I went to go see what he was talking about. Because of the angle the shooter was at the bullets went right under my plate. They said if the bullets went any closer to my heart I'd be dead right now. I like to believe it was your letter.
You wanna know the last thing I thought about before I blacked out? I thought of you. I thought of you and what you might be doing. Sitting on the couch watching a game. Hanging out with the guys talking. Or if you were thinking about me too.
I don't know when I'll be back home, but for now I'm still in Germany. I love you.

"We're all quiet for a few minutes.
"She got shot." I was the first to speak. "She almost died." I couldn't do anything. I feel like I can't breath. I just sat there starring off into space.
"But she's ok Nialler. She's ok." Zayn tried. But she still got hurt. I promised her I wouldn't let anything hurt her, that I wouldn't let her get hurt. I never thought that it would end up being a bullet that hurt her.
