Niall's POV
We don't have a show tonight, but we should be in Georgia by tonight. Since we're not going to be doing anything tonight, and it's New Years Eve, the lads and I are going out. We're not sure where yet, but I'm sure we're gonna get drunk.
I'v been texting Jackie since Texas. She's doing good, but I miss her. She got a new tattoo and it looks beautiful on her. She's also gone back to work and she couldn't be more happy about it. She said something about how she stayed in tonight for the new year, and also something about her brother's wedding. I told her I wish I could go with her, but when I'm back I'd like to meet him.
I have nightmares every once in a while. She usually doesn't notice cause she sleeps like a rock, but their worse now that I'm on tour. Ever since I broke through the bathroom door that one night and found her on the floor. Blood flowing out of her arm. I can't get out the image of her seemingly lifeless body as hands pull me away from her. They were really bad when she went into the army also. It was a mixture of her dying on the bathroom floor, and her getting blown up by some random guy in a dusty, hard to pronounce, place.
"Guys we're about an hour away." Paul shouts from the couch in the front of the bus. I'm in my bunk, pretending to sleep, Zayn is also in his bunk though he's probably actually sleeping, and the other guys are in different parts of the bus.
"When are you coming home again?" Jac texts me now.
"February 15th, and I'll be home for a week." I send before peeking out between the curtains covering my bunk. I don't see anyone, and it's pretty dark on this part of the bus.
":("
"I know, but this is my job. I wish I could be home all the time, but I really can't."
"It just sucks is all."
"I miss you."
"I miss you too." I have thought about telling her about the nightmares once, but then I didn't want her to worry about me, so I didn't tell her. I don't think the guys know either. It's not like I wake up screaming from them, I just wake up all of a sudden from them. Then I can't get back to sleep so I end up talking to our bus driver, and sending Jackie texts to wake up to. Sometimes she's up when I send them, so it's nice to have late night talks with her. Sometimes when that happens I call her.
"You asked me what I did tonight, but you never said what your doing tonight."
"You never asked? Thinking about just going out with the lads, probably just to a bar."
"Of course."
"You asked ;)" I send before getting up and venturing out into the front. I sit on the couch next to Liam and peek outside. It's dark outside too.
"I knew you weren't sleeping." Liam comments as my phone silently vibrates in my hand. I sneak a quick glance down at it before answering him.
"I just wanted to talk to her without getting bothered about it. If it makes it any better, Zayn really is sleeping." They don't really bother me too much, but they do tease me a bit. We used to do the same to Louis and Zayn at first too.
"Figured. Haven't heard a peep from him since Texas."
"When did you hear noise from my bunk?"
"When you first started texting Jackie you didn't have your phone on vibrate."
"Where's everyone else?" I ask as I type a reply back to her.
"Harry's up front, and Louis is in back playing a game." I nod as she texts me and tells me that she's tired and she's going to sleep. I tell her goodnight and that I love her before putting my phone on my leg. Paul and Liam are now talking about the tour, and I lean my head back a little. I can't wait to get my mind off of things for a while tonight.
