Jackie's POV
I woke up and got ready. I checked the time to see if I would have enough time to call Niall. I would just be able to talk to him on the way over there. I quickly got my stuff together. I got in the slow elevator to head downstairs. I'll wait to call Niall in the taxi. The elevator stopped and someone stepped on. I ignored them and looked down at my phone.
"Going to see your grandmother?" I looked up to see the guy I talked to yesterday.
"Hi." I said trying not to laugh. "Sorry about that by the way."
"Don't worry about it. It was pretty funny." I smiled at him. "Your up pretty early."
"So are you."
"I have work."
"I have to sign up for the army." He just looked at me.
"Really?"
"Ya. Is it so heard to believe?"
"No, just I didn't think you were here for that." I nodded. "Well good luck, and that's really cool that you wanna do that." I smiled at him as the elevator stopped. I headed out, handed over the room key, then got a taxi. In the taxi I dialed Niall's number after telling the man where to go.
"Hey babe. I can only talk for a few minutes before I get there."
"Oh, ok. I just wanted to hear your voice that's all." He sounds tired.
"Did I wake you up?"
"Ya but it's fine. We had today off and tomorrow as well."
"What did you do today?"
"Nothing really."
"Lazy bones." He chuckled on the other end.
"I was so worried about you today, I'm surprised I even fell asleep."
"I'm so sorry for waking you up."
"Don't be. So how far away are you?" I looked out the window and could see it in the distance.
"I'm almost there I can see it. I'll talk to you another time ok? I love you."
"I love you too." I hung up, turned my phone off, and got out of the taxi. I paid the driver and he pulled away. I looked up at the place I'll be staying at for the next month.

Once they gave me my uniform and dog tags, and I changed, I headed to the bunk house. I got in and noticed that they separated then men and woman into different bunk houses. I set my stuff down on one of the top bunks that wasn't taken.
I found out that I'm training with barracks 15. That barracks has one woman, except for me, and the rest are men. I walked into the main office, they told me to come here after I chose a bunk, and sat next to a guy. He looked at me at first. I have on a white tee shirt, camo pants, boots, and my dog tags. He extended his hand.
"Hi. My names Nick. I'm in barracks fifteen." I shook his hand.
"Jackie, me too."
"So where are you from?"
"New York, you?"
"Virginia."
"Well I'm from New York, but I'v been living with my boyfriend in London for the past few months."
"I live with my fiance. We're gonna get married this time next year."
"Congratulations."
"Thanks." We weren't able to talk much after that because a man stood up and started talking. He called each of us up. When he called my name I stepped forward.
"Call whoever you want and read from this. Don't say anything else." He handed me a piece of paper then walked away. The only number I could think of to call was Niall's. I dial the number I know by heart.
"Hello?" I can hear the familiar Irish accent. I hope I didn't wake him up again.
"Hi Niall. This is Jackie from barracks fifteen. I arrived safely, and I'll see you soon." I waited a second, looked around, then whispered. "I love you." Then hung up. I didn't wait for what he was going to say.
