Jackie's POV
I'm leaving for Germany today. Niall wanted to fly to America with me to say goodbye. We got off the plane and then headed to the gate that's taking me to Germany. I'm wearing my army attire and I'm carrying my camouflage backpack.
"How long are you going to be gone for?" Niall asks pulling me closer to him as we walk.
"Twelve months."
"No time off to come home? Not even for a weekend?"
"No, I'm sorry." We step closer to the front of the line.
"I'm going to miss you so much. One whole year without seeing you."
"I know. Sometimes things change. They might let me come home sooner. Things happen, you never know." I wrap my arms around his neck. We're now at the front of the line. I give him a tight hug.
"I love you." He whispers before kissing me.
"I love you too." I give the lady my ticket.
"Jackie!" Niall yells after me as I head towards the plane. "Stay safe! I'll see you soon." I smile and wave at him.

I walk into the main building, then head into the room that my barracks usually hang out in. They're all sitting around the room.
"Hey look it's Dunkle!" I walk in and put my stuff down on a chair.
"Hey guys." I stand at the table and look around the room at all the guys. My barracks has all guys. I'm the only girl. "Hey Mike, how was Ohio?" He looks surprised.
"Ok who told her?"
"Mike she just walked in. She just got here." We all laugh at him.
"So how was England?" Nick asks.
"Oh you know. Snowed a lot. Got to see my friends. I got a new tattoo. Oh, and my boyfriend gave me a promise ring." All their heads turn in my direction. "Calm down! It's a fucking promise ring not an engagement ring!"
"Who's your boyfriend?" Dylan asks.
"You guys know that band One Direction?" They nod.
"My daughter is obsessed with them." Jack says.
"Well I'm dating Niall Horan from One Direction."
"Is he the blonde one?" I smile.
"Yes."
"Are you really dating him?" Nick asks.
"Ya. I really love him." I smile like an idiot. "Hey you guys know where their sending us next?"
"Ya, Africa."
"Hey Nick. How was the wedding? Sorry I couldn't make it. I really wish I could have."
"It was nice. It was a small one, it's ok that you didn't come. I understand." I smile at him.
