Jackie's POV
All I really need to bring with me is my toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and a bar of soap. Well that's what the website said you needed to bring with you. I packed what I needed and headed down stairs.
"Niall! I'm ready! Do you want to drive me to the airport?"
"Yes!" He shouted like it was obvious. He came running downstairs. Wait, he was upstairs too? He gave me a strange look. :That's all your bringing?"
"Ya. The website said this is all we need with us." He drove me to the airport. I think he deliberately went slow. He parked and we both got out. We went through the first security check, then went through carry on bag security. They have a ton of fucking security here. We stood in line waiting for them to call that the plane is boarding. I looked at my phone quickly. Six am. I can't believe he got up to say goodbye to me. I just stood there holding his hand. I don't ever want to let go.
"Flight 119 to New York is now boarding. Flight 119 is now boarding." The woman on the loudspeaker called. I couldn't help but start to get tears in my eyes. I really want to go into the army, ut I'm gonna miss Niall. We kept moving forward. I handed my ticket to the lady, she checked it, then handed it back. I turned towards Niall. I noticed out the corner of my eye that the lady just looks at us with a tired expression.
"You have to call when you get to the hotel." Niall says making sure to look directly into my eyes.
"I will, I promise." He leaned down and kissed me. I can't believe I won't be able to do this for months and months.
"I love you." He says when we separate.
"I love you too." I hug him. "To the moon and back." I whisper then walk off. I only turn around once to wave. I got on the plane, and took my seat. I'm sitting next to an old man; it won't be so bad. I'm going to miss him so much.
-
I made my way out of the crowded airport and got a taxi. I told him where to go and he pulled off. I paid the man and thanked him. The snotty looking blond at the desk gave me my key in exchange for money and I got into the elevator to bring me to the twenty eighth floor. I took my phone out and tapped on the familiar contact, then put it up to my ear. It rang four times before he picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Niall."
"Hey! How was the flight?"
"Ok. I sat next to a very talkative old man. He insisted on showing me about a thousand pictures of his grandchildren."
"That sounds fun." I can hear his smile through the phone. "Are you at the hotel yet?" I looked up as the elevator stopped. I stepped aside as someone got into the elevator with me. I decide to confuse them.
"Ya. I'm in the elevator heading up to my room. It's on the twenty eighth floor, and I'm only on the fifteenth." I said in a thick Irish accent. I'v been around Niall so much that It comes easily for me. I could see him look at me strangely out the corner of his eye.
"Ok." I can hear Niall laughing on the other end. "I was just making sure you made it there ok. Why are you talking in an Irish accent?"
"I'll tell you later. Hey, babe? I'm really tired. I didn't get any sleep on the plane. I think I'm just gonna go to bed when I get to my room. I promise I'll call you before I head over there."
"Ok. Goodnight beautiful. I love you."
"I love you too." I hung up and put my phone away. This elevator is so fucking slow. I look over at the man I'm sharing the elevator with.
"If you don't mind me asking, why do you have an Irish accent if your in New York?"
"I don't mind. I'm from Ireland. I'm just over here cause my dear grandmother is in the hospital." I lied.
"Really? I'm sorry." The elevator stopped on my floor. I started to walk off, but stopped halfway out. I turned towards him and smiled.
"Me too." I say without the accent. "I'm going into the army. See you around." He smiles a bit as I walk away. I get my phone out and send Niall a quick text.
"Hey babe. Sorry about the accent. This guy got onto the elevator and I wanted to see if he would believe it." He replied back before I got to my room.
"Lol, did he?"
"Ya, he asked why I'm in NY if I'm from Ireland. I told him my grandmother was in the hospital. He actually believed me before I told him I was going into the army right before I got off."
"omg ur insane."
"Thank you. Love you, goodnight."
"Goodnight, I love you too." I slipped my phone into my pocket and unlocked my door. I locked the door behind me, then belly flopped onto the soft bed. Usually hotel beds are really hard, but this one is really soft. It feels like a fucking cloud. I fell asleep thinking about Niall.
