"Oppa!" She said happily, clinging onto his arm.

"Hey Lisa." Tao kissed the top of his girlfriend's head. She smiled up at him. Tao's heart clenched. It was times like this when he asked himself if it was really worth it. If using this innocent person as a rebound was alright. 'Course it is.' He thought to himself, but he didn't quite believe it.

"Oppa, what do you want to do tonight?" Lisa asked, bringing Tao back to Earth.

Tao smiled. "Do you want to watch a movie?" Lisa smiled.

"Anything is great. As long as you're with me." She tiptoed to kiss his cheek.

~Three Days Later~

"Oppa?" Lisa walked into the bedroom, holding her phone. Tao was sitting on the bed, watching some random stuff. "Can I talk to you?" She asked and sat on the bed across from him.

"What is it jagi?" Tao asked, shutting off the laptop and putting it to the side.

"Is this true?" Lisa handed him her phone, which was open to messages. She had been talking to her friend, Rachel.

'I heard that Tao loves Leah! And when he asked you out, it was because Leah rejected him.' -Rachel

'No way. Tao wouldn't do that to me. Tao's amazing. ^.^' -Lisa

'Whatever u say buddy! I'm just saying what I heard. <3' -Rachel

Tao froze. He had been dreading this day for a long time. When his girlfriend would find out that she was only a rebound. Lisa sighed. "It is true isn't it?" Tao looked up at her, and saw her biting her lip, trying to hold in her tears.

He couldn't do this to her. She was too innocent, fragile and sweet. "No jagi. There just rumours." He lied. But Lisa didn't buy it.

"Oppa, I know you inside out. You can't lie to me." She forced out a small smile. "I hope you have a great life." And just like that, she got up, grabbed her phone from him, her purse and left.

Tao sat on the bed and ran a hand through his hair. Something about this didn't feel right. He really wanted to run after her and stop her from leaving. But what would he say? He didn't love her...not the way she did. Her undeniable, faithful, but unrequited love.

~Five Months Later~

Lisa prepared for work, wearing a fake smile. She had kept this up for around five months, going through the motions of living but not actually living. Everything about her had changed. She grew her short brown hair out long, and dyed it black. After a brief vacation to clear her mind, she got a tan, and she was fit as ever. She was a perfect beauty and any man would be lucky to have her. But she knew that she wouldn't find love anywhere else. She loved one man and one man only, and she always would. After changing into her uniform, she went out to the counter, replacing her coworker. She flashed a brief smile and her coworker left.

The door rang, signaling that someone new had come in. "Hello. Welcome. What can I get you today?" She said in a happy voice. But something was off today. Her voice was too high and she didn't feel like doing anything today.

"Can I get a coffee?" The man asked, taking off his glasses. She was momentarily shocked. It was him, the one who had broken her and turned her into this mess. Huang Zitao. Suddenly, Tao recognized her too. "Lisa?" He asked, astounded. "Can I talk to you?" He immediately said.

"I'm working." She deadpanned.

"Lisa please. I was wrong." Tao pleaded.

"I'm working." She repeated and walked off to go get his drink. Tao sighed after her. She was pretty as ever. Prettier than the last time he had seen her. When she brought his drink back, he accepted it with thanks.

"When does your work end?" He asked, sipping his coffee and sitting at the counter.

"Why do you want to know?" She narrowed her eyes at him. Tao stopped. Why did he want to know?

"Curious." He shrugged.

"Who dumped you this time?" Lisa cut in.

Tao ignored the comment and kept talking. "And I want to know how my girlfriend has been doing all these months."

"I'm not your girlfriend." Lisa said sharply. Tao looked up. She had changed. She wasn't sweet and nice like before. There was bitterness in her eyes.

"Yeah you are. We haven't broken up yet." Tao smiled innocently at her.

"Well, now I am. I, Cheung Lisa, am breaking up with you, Huang Zitao." She said, keeping a straight face. Tao was completely surprised. He had not expected her to be able to do that. "Didn't think I would be able to do that eh? Well five months gives a person a lot of time to think." She said. Then the door jingled again, and Lisa left. "Hello! How may I help you today?" She chirped as if she had not just broken up with him.

~After Lisa Finishes Work~

Tao was still waiting for her, when Lisa finished her work. She ignored him for the entire time, despite his attempts to start a conversation with her. As she bent over the table, wiping the far ends, she felt a pair of arms go around her waist. "Please. Can I talk to you?" Tao begged.

Lisa turned around in his arms, and leaned her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, fast and nervous. "What do you want?" She breathed.

"To tell you I'm sorry." He said, holding her close. "I was using you as a rebound" Lisa winced. "But, after you left, it hurt. It was like somebody punched me in the heart and left a gaping hole. I didn't realize what it was, until several days later. That gaping hole was left by you. And only you can fill it up for me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love you. Please, be my girlfriend again?" Tao said, pulling away to look her in the eyes. Lisa was smiling through her tears. "Why are you crying?" Tao asked, immediately bringing his hand up to wipe her tears away.

She smiled wider. "That has to be the most cliche thing that anybody has ever said to me." She punched him lightly in the chest. "But..." She looked into his eyes. "I love you too." She smiled. Tao grinned as he pulled her into a kiss.

"I won't mess up again. I love you Lisa." He whispered to her. Her love, her unrequited love, was finally requited.
