"Omma? Omma I'm home!" Melody slipped off her shoes and wandered into the living room. "Omma!" She smiled. Then she noticed a third presence in the room. Both he and her mother were staring at her in shock. "Omma. Who is this?" She said, her smile leaving her face. "He looks exactly like..." She trailed off.
"Melody..." Her mom looked at her, a sad smile on her face. "This is-"
"You don't remember me?" He stood up and walked closer.
"J-Junmyeon oppa?" Melody stepped back. "You- You're supposed to be dead." She stuttered, walking back until she hit a wall. "When...How...What? The crash 2 years ago...No...No! No!" She screamed.
"Melody..." Suho tried to comfort her.
"No get away!" She screamed and ran back outside. Suho looked sadly after her, while her mom just sighed and rested her hand on his back.
"She'll come around." She smiled.
~Later At Night~
Melody returned home, her eyes puffy from crying. "Melody?" Her mom came walking up to her. "Are you okay?" Melody just stared at her.
"How long did you know for? How long did you know he was alive for?" Melody demanded.
"Melody..." Her mom reached out to her.
"Tell me!" She screamed.
"I knew... The moment he 'died'." She admitted, biting her lip. Melody just stared at her.
"How could you? Are you even my mom? You told me he died. I cried for months, didn't eat for days and lost 2 years of my life, and you still didn't bother to tell me? What kind of mother are you?" Melody cried. Her mom just stared at her.
"Melody. He was in a coma for a year, and during that year, we moved. I didn't think-" Melody cut her off.
"Yeah. You didn't think. Great excuse. For 2 years, I was just staring at a wall. And you didn't think that the best option would be to tell me so that maybe I would know that he's not dead and I could move on quicker?" Melody scoffed.
"Melody please." Her mom said, tears beginning to flow out of her eyes.
"I don't want to hear anything anymore." She walked past her mom and locked herself in her room.
~Two Days Later~
"Melody? Melody please come out and eat." Her mom begged from outside. "Melody, I know you're hurt but can you please just come out to eat something?" Some whispering was heard outside and then the door opened.
"Melody. Come eat right now." A voice demanded.
Melody sat up on her bed, where she had been staring absently at the ceiling. "You." She scoffed when she saw Suho. "I don't want to see you. Go away." She said, and turned back to the wall.
"Melody. Come eat right now." He repeated. Melody just laughed.
"Now you care? Where were you two years ago when my life fell to pieces at my feet huh? Did you ever think of coming to find me? Did you even care that I almost suicided to follow you? Where were you then?" Melody asked.
"You almost suicided?" Suho asked, stunned.
"It doesn't matter to you anyways." She said, turning away from him.
"Melody. Listen to me." Suho said sternly. She didn't answer. "I was in a coma for a year, and you moved during that year. Then for 6 months, I was in a rehabilitation. I was trying to find you-"
"Stop with the excuses!" She screamed. "My mom knew! My mom could have told me!"
"The doctor didn't want her to." Suho said calmly.
"Why on earth would the doctor not want you to tell me?" Melody asked, beginning to go crazy. She had sat up and was now hugging her knees.
"You were already traumatized enough due to the accident, and then when he told you that I died, you went crazy. But when he found out that I was actually alive, then you were already on the mend and he didn't want to make it worse." Suho explained.
"Pshh on the mend. Stupid explanation. Stupid doctors." She muttered. "Why'd you show up?" She looked at Suho.
"You weren't supposed to see me..." Suho admitted, biting his lip. "I was just visiting your mom, but you came home earlier than expected."
"So when would you have let me know? Or would you have let me live in the dark, thinking that my best friend had died in a crash while I was driving? Do you know how bad I felt?" She asked, staring at him.
"Best friend?" Suho asked, chuckling a little. Melody frowned. He was her best friend right? "Don't you remember what happened that day before the crash?"
Melody racked her brain, trying to remember. Then it came to her. She looked away and flushed. That night, they had been going home from a date, when Suho had just asked her to become his girlfriend. "Um..." Suho laughed.
"So...Is it still valid?" Suho asked.
Melody turned away from him, passing a hand over her eyes. Suho sighed, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "I really am sorry Melody. I should've told you sooner."
Melody turned around in his arms, her head hiding against his chest. "I missed you so much, you idiot." She whispered, hitting his chest weakly. Suho smiled, kissing the top of her head lightly. "If you ever leave me again..." She began to threaten, and Suho chuckled.
"Wouldn't dream of it." He smiled. Melody tiptoed and kissed his cheek lightly.
Suho pouted. "Is that all I get?" She frowned and Suho pointed to his lips. Melody smiled and pressed her lips against his.
"Happy?" She smiled at him.
"Too happy." He smiled back and pulled her into a tight hug. "I missed you more." He whispered.
"I love you." Melody looked up at him adoringly.
"I love you more." Suho smiled and pressed his lips against hers again.
