Persevere (EXO-K EXO)

"I'm not quite sure we can do this..." Kai said nervously.

"Yeah. People say that AJ is a tough judge." Baekhyun added chewing his lip.

"It's okay guys. We got this." D.O. encouraged them, but he too was showing signs of nervousness. 

"But the AJ is going to be judging us!" Chanyeol almost wailed.

"Guys, it doesn't matter whether or not AJ likes us, we're performing for our fans." Suho said. "And that's all that really matters. We need to make our fans happy." 

"But AJ noona is so pretty!" Sehun smiled.

"Yeah she is. And she's like the Queen of performing." Kai said. 

"You're on in five." The stage hand said.

"We got this guys." Suho said. "Huddle!" The five boys huddled in a group around their leader. "We got this. Perform for our fans. It doesn't matter what the judges think. We're gonna go up there and rock that stage, because that's what we do." Suho said confidently. Six hands went into the middle. 

"EXO saranghaja!" They yelled. 

"Let's go boys." The same stage hand said, doing a final mike check for each of them.

"And here come our boys... EXO!" The host announced, making the crowd scream in joy. The six boys ran on stage, getting in their first positions for Wolf.

There were three judges watching them. AJ in the middle, Taeyang and Tablo on either side of her. AJ studied each boy carefully, before jotting something down. Baekhyun gulped nervously. 

Despite the nerves, Wolf went off without a hitch. Right after Wolf, the song was quickly changed to Growl. Each took their positions again and began to dance their hearts out. AJ nodded approvingly before jotting down some more things.

After both performances, the host came back on stage and kept up some small talk while the judges discussed. AJ was talking animatedly, her hands moving around, as Taeyang and Tablo nodded in understanding as she talked.

When they finally finished talking, the host looked at Tablo. "Tablo?" He indicated for him to go first.

Tablo complimented them, as well as giving them so hints. Taeyang did pretty much the same. The boys nodded and made mental notes at the advice and thanked them for the compliments. Finally it was AJ's turn. EXO-K looked nervously at AJ, waiting for her opinion. 

"So..." She started slowly. Then her face lit up into a smile. "It was a great performance boys." They smiled back. "But there are a couple things you can work on." They nodded, taking care to remember what advice she gave them. "Overall, it was a brilliant performance. Was it not?" AJ turned to the crowd, making them scream in approval. "Keep performing boys!" 

The host stepped back up. "We'll be back with our three favourite judges performing, right after this break. Stay with us." He winked. 

AJ, Taeyang and Tablo all went backstage to go prepare for their performances, each going to their respective dressing room. As soon as AJ entered the room, she was immediately pulled into her washroom, to change. 

For her stage outfit, she was given a pair of tight navy blue/black jeans, a blank tank top, and an off shoulder pink see through shirt. On her feet, she wore a pair of pink stilettos, and she wore light silver jewelry. As soon as she came out of her washroom, she was pulled into her makeup chair, where makeup artists began to quickly do her face. 

As they were all flitting about, somebody knocked on the door. A stagehand came in. "AJ, EXO-K wants to come in and meet you." 

AJ nodded. "Let them in." She said as the makeup artists finished up. 

The hair stylists then moved in, curling her hair. After they curled it, they began to braid the top layers of her hair on either side of her head, planning to pull it to the back and pin it there. As they began to braid, the door opened again, letting in six excited boys. 

"AJ noona!" Sehun said excitedly. 

She smiled, looking through the mirror at the boys. "Hey guys."

"AJ, you're on in fifteen." The stagehand said. AJ put a thumbs up. Tablo and Taeyang must be going now. They were performing a duo and then a solo each. 

The hair stylists finished with her hair, before turning her around and handing her another mirror so she could see it. She smiled. "It looks great as usual. Thanks guys." AJ said, putting down the mirror and getting off the chair. "Take a seat boys." She gestured to the couch, sinking down onto one of the seats herself. "Can I help you?" 

"Sehun just wanted to meet you, and Suho said we could get your autograph." Kai said, nodding towards the said two. 

AJ let out a small laugh. "So who wanted my autograph?" Kai, Suho and D.O. pointed to Sehun.

"Well if you're giving out autographs, I might as well get one too." Baekhyun shrugged.

"Me too!" Chanyeol smiled. 

AJ laughed. "Hey can you pass me four CDs and a sharpie please?" She asked one of the random people flitting about the room. She nodded, handing her things she requested. AJ curled up on her chair, before scribbling out some messages. "Is there anything else you guys needed?" She asked, still writing. 

"Not really. Just good luck on your performance!" Suho shrugged.

D.O. was studying her facial expression, before frowning. "Aren't you nervous?" 

AJ looked up from the second CD she had signed. "Nervous about?" 

"Performing." D.O. answered.

AJ just smiled. "I am, but it doesn't matter. The fans aren't gonna care if I mess up, as long as I don't trip or anything." She shrugged. "And plus, I'm doing what I love best." She turned back to the CDs.

D.O. nodded. "Wait so you're not nervous at all?" Sehun asked, amazed.

AJ laughed. "I didn't say that. I just don't show it." 

"How?" Baekhyun asked.

AJ shrugged. "It's an adrenaline rush. And I think of my parents. They're watching me. As well as my siblings. I want to make them proud. It's like when I used to dance and sing in front of them when I was little." 

They gaped at her. "How on earth is sitting in front of thousands of people like sitting in front of your family?" Chanyeol asked, astounded. 

"Imagination." AJ winked. A stagehand walked in. 

"AJ you're on in five." She said. AJ nodded. 

"Sorry boys, that's my cue to go. Maybe I'll talk to you when I'm done performing." She said, getting up from the couch. "Here." She handed them the four CDs. Three for Sehun, Baekhyun and Chanyeol and one for the group. "See you later." AJ said as she left the room.

They crowded around the one CD meant for the group. 

Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, 

You guys were amazing. Keep performing amazingly! I could see the nervousness in your eyes when you walk on stage, but you all pulled through. It was gone halfway through the first song, and you were doing what you loved best. That is the best part of being on stage. My whole life's dream. To get on stage, and make people smile. To sing my heart out and dance till I could drop. All of you have an amazing career in front of you, persevere. One day, you'll be on the stage with me, we'll perform together. And it would be my great pleasure to introduce you to everyone. Persevere. AJ
