Jungkook was walking down a street alone, when he saw a cafe. It was packed with people, so Jungkook decided to go in and find out what was going on. Silently, he slipped in and realized there was an open mike going on.
A man, whom Jungkook assumed to be the MC, walked onto the stage. "And, for your last performance of the night, everybody's favourite girl... Elle!"
Elle came onto the stage, making everybody erupt into applause. Once the clapping died down, Elle leaned toward the mike. "Hey everybody. So two years ago, my former boyfriend broke up with me. I was devastated, since we had been dating for about five years, and he had been my friend since we were in diapers. This song is for him." She finished, cueing the music. Soft piano music began to play.
Her voice, soft and sweet, began to float over the cafe.
I am tired of this place, I hope people change. She sang. Jungkook smiled. Fools by Troye Sivan. He and Rapmon had done a cover of that song. I need time to replace what I gave away. And my hopes, they are high, I must keep them small. Everybody was entranced by her voice. She smiled as she sung, a heart broken bitter smile. Once she reached the chorus, her voice grew stronger, her eyes closed and she immersed herself in the song.
Only fools fall for you, only fools. The line echoed over and over in Jungkook's head, as he listened to her sing. When she finished singing, everybody burst into applause. The girl, Elle, had tears running down her cheeks, but she still managed to smile.
"I was a fool to fall for him." She spoke into her mike. "I was a fool to think that we could last. And I learned a valuable lesson, love hurts. We were but a high school fling." She smiled bitterly. "But we could have stayed best friends for life." Bowing one last time, she walked off stage, wiping her tears. Most of the audience was in tears, as they broke into applause once more.
Jungkook lingered around for about ten minutes longer when he noticed Elle was leaving. Quickly he got up, and followed her outside. He tapped her shoulder lightly, making her turn around.
"Can I help you?" She smiled politely.
"I just uh..." He shuffled shyly. "I just wanted to say you were really good at singing." He blushed a little.
Elle let out a little laugh, like silver bells. "Thanks. Do you sing?"
Jungkook nodded. "How did you know?"
"I've seen your videos." She shrugged. "At first I thought you were a crazy look alike but turns out you're not..." Jungkook laughed. She had seen their videos?
He and a couple of his close friends had joined together, forming a band and posting YouTube videos. He didn't think that anybody ever watched those, but apparently she did. "I do sing and I do post videos with my band." He affirmed.
Elle's smile grew wider. "Can I get an autograph?" She asked. Jungkook laughed.
"How about I bring you to meet the whole group?" He offered.
"Really?" She said, almost bouncing up and down with excitement.
Jungkook laughed. "Yeah we can go now if you want."
Elle opened her mouth to say yes, when she paused. "Oh shoot. I can't tonight." She looked at her watch. "Here's my number." She pulled a paper out of her bag. "I have to go sorry!" She yelled, running off. "I'll see you sometime soon!" Jungkook watched after her confused.
