Archer POV:
I peeled off all my clothes as I prepared to shift. It was almost time to meet Damon and I was more than ready. Kye walked up to me and handed me a gun with silver bullets inside. He looked at me and I could see the worry in his eyes.
"Bryn wanted me to give this to you, just in case." I nodded and took the gun from him. "Come on Archer you can't still be going through with this! This is obviously a trap and you know it. You need back up on this."
"You know I can't. He won't show his smug face if I bring you. Too much depends on this for me to get cold feet. He doesn't scare me anyway." Kye sighed loudly as he ran his hand through his curly blonde hair.
"What if something happens to you? Our pack can't make it without you. The minute you are gone packs around the world will try to bring us down. You have made many enemies but the only reason they haven't attacked us is because of you. Don't be so selfish." By the end of his speech he was practically yelling.
I would be lying if I said that this wasn't a trap and I wasn't a bit nervous. But this had to end now, no matter the cost. I moved to Kye and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Kye, if something happens to me I hereby give you my Alpha title. I could think of no better person." I made sure to emphasize the 'if'. He just stared at me before pulling me into a hug.
"Come back, you hear?" I nodded at him before moving away. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I instantly felt the familiar pain of my spine snapping and my bone stretching but after doing it for so long, it no longer bothers me. Within seconds I had shifted into my huge black wolf. Most Alphas have solid black fur. However, I have silver paws which makes me stand out from the rest. I brought my snout to the ground and scooped up the gun Kye gave me. I took one last look at Kye before running into the deep, unforgiving forest.
Kye POV:
I kept looking at the forest until there was no trace that Archer was anywhere near. With that I stalked back into the house and into the kitchen. There was no way I was sending my best friend out there to be slaughtered. And I knew that's what was going to happen. I slammed open the kitchen door revealing the rest of the warriors.
"Did Archer leave?" Bryn asked.
"Yes. About five minutes ago."
"We're not seriously going to let him go alone are we?" A man named Eddie said.
"We have no choice." Bryn grumbled back at him.
"Yes, we do." I stepped in and they all turned to look at me. "We are going to surround where he is meeting them, except we will be so far away they won't be able to smell us. That way if something goes wrong, we can get to him."
They all agreed and ran outside with me following behind. Within seconds I was surround by huge angry wolves. I grinned knowing that there's no way Damon could escape. I quickly shifted and walked into the center of the wolves.
"War has begun." With that we all took off into the woods, letting our noses lead the way.
Archer POV:
I arrived behind the store and shifted back. I walked and pulled a lose piece of brick away revealing a pair of shorts that I had put there earlier. Once I was put them on I slid the gun into my pocket and started walking back into the woods, smelling the rouges. I followed their sent until I came face to face with a man I assumed was Damon.
"Ah, Archer! So good for you to join me."
"Get to the point Damon. Why did you call me here?"
"I know you and your little puppies are here to try and kill me so I think it's only fair that we get to know each other first. You know what they say. I'd rather be killed by a friend than an enemy."
"Don't push me Damon. I will rip you in half." I snarled. He just smirked and walked closer to me.
"You and I aren't that much different."
"I am nothing like you."
"Oh but I think you'll find that you are. We both are greatly feared, have a nasty temper, have a strong pack-"
"Rouges can't be in a pack. That defeats the purpose of being rouge." I interrupted him. He completely ignored my statement and kept going.
"And we both have a knack for winning. But sadly both of us can't win here. But we could compromise."
"What are you talking about?"
"I will make you a deal. As much as I would enjoy kicking you're stuck up ass and destroying the Silver Shadows pack, i can't. So I will take my rouges and move off this land. We will relocate somewhere else far away from you and your pack. Just give me time to collect someone and we will be off."
"Someone?"
"Oh she's nothing. I only need a day to get her. I have a feeling she won't come easy, but you know how it is."
"Is she your mate?"
"No! God no! My mate was an awful ugly woman who didn't know her left from her right. I rejected her years ago." This man was sick. I couldn't let him leave. Not while his rouges kill everything they get their hands on.
"I can't let you leave Damon. You are a threat to every pack in the country."
"I thought you might say that." He looked up and singled at someone but before I could turn something hit me in the neck. I pulled it out to find it was a dart. The feeling that erupted through my body told me that it was laced with silver. I fell to my knees and looked up at Damon, growling.
"Well pup this has been fun but I have business to attend to. I am really quite bummed though. I thought you would put up some sort of a fight. Oh well, it makes my job a hell of a lot easier." I heard footsteps approaching me and saw five men walk out from the shadows.
"My men will make sure you are taken care of." With that he walked into the darkness. As soon as he left I sprung up and punched one of the guys in the face. He stumbled back, not expecting it. They all lunged in for me but i blocked every blow they threw at me. I started to feel my self getting more and more tired. I kicked the guy in front of me causing him to fly into the tree behind him. I threw one last punch before pulling the gun out of my pocket, knowing I couldn't fight anymore. By now I felt very dizzy and weak. But I knew I had to keep fighting the silver.
I aimed at the man in front of me and pulled the trigger. Much to my horror nothing happened. Then it dawned on me. Fucking Bryn forgot to load the damn gun! If I lived through this I'm going to kill him. The man in front of me laughed before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small hand gun. All I heard was a loud pop and then I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I slumped to the ground and bit my lip to stop from screaming out. I slowly stood back up and advanced forward.
"Damn this guy never quits." I felt someone grab my arm and push me to the ground, holding me in place.
"Goodnight puppy." I closed my eyes and I listened for the bang. The minute it did I felt the cold bullet enter my bare skin and lodge into my lung. I knew I couldn't fight the darkness anymore so I finally gave in.
