River POV:
Five days. It's been five days since Damon kidnapped Emma and not a word. Ever since she was taken I have been experiencing the strangest feeling. I soon came to realize that it was guilt. I don't like guilt. Sadly, it seemed to be the only thing I can feel these days. Well, that and the numbness that seems to be growing inside.
I was currently sitting on the floor, my back leaning against the bed for support. It seems that's where I am most lately. I felt a warm liquid run down my check and I quickly wiped it off as I stood up and made my way to the bathroom. I stripped off the only item of clothes I was wearing, which just so happened to be Archers shirt. My heart cried just thinking about his name. I haven't seen him since that day. He works all day and by the time I wake up in the morning, he is gone. The only reason I know he had been there is the fact that I'm no longer on the floor and instead on the bed. He is avoiding me and, for some reason, it's making me feel like my insides are being torn out. Wearing his shirt gave me a strange feeling of comfort.
I turned on the water and stepped in, not caring about the cold. I slid down the wall and sat on the floor of the massive shower. Eventually I gathered myself enough to wash up. I stepped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around me. I looked at my feet as I left the bathroom, causing me not to notice the person standing in the shadows.
"Well, it's nice that I can truthfully say you look like shit." My head shot up, already knowing who it was. Not feeling in the mood to deal with her, I moved to the closet.
"Adorabella, charming as always." I let the towel fall to the ground and threw on another one of Archers shirts as well as some underwear.
"I just came to check up on you. I wanted to see how you are taking your dear friends kidnapping." I whipped around and began to stalk towards her.
"What do you know of it?" I stopped in front of her, getting my hands ready to attack.
"Oh please, you think that idiot Damon would have come up with the plan to take her on his own?" That pushed me over the edge. I rushed forward and slammed her against the wall, one hand gripping her neck causing her to dangle above the ground and the other holding a flame towards her. She laughed then disappeared. "You can save her, you know." I turned around and she was sitting on the bed.
"How?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Tomorrow at noon, go to the clearing outside this house. Make sure everyone is there to see what happens. Damon will bring the girl. All you have to do is comply with what his asks and she will be returned."
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"There has to be a catch."
"No catch. Just do what Damon says and it should all go down swimmingly. Oh and make sure to say your goodbyes. You will most likely not be returning." My mind immediately flew to Archer. But I shook that out of my head as soon as I could. It was my fault Emma what taken. I will get her back no matter the consequence. Then something came to my mind.
"How do I know she is even still alive?" She grinned and pulled out a phone.
"I knew you would ask that." Within in seconds a ringing sound rang through the air. She tossed me the phone just as a screen came up revealing Damon.
