I looked at Avery with a pain spreading inside of me. I trusted him and he betrayed me. I watched as he shut the door, locking me in.

"It was rude for you to run, River. And it was unacceptable for you punched me." I looked around for anything that could help me out of this situation. Sadly the only way out was the door that Avery was standing in front of.

"What do you want with me?" Damon smiled and stood up slowly, making my heart pound nervously.

"You see, River, I want you. Simple as that. Ever since you walked that beautiful body of yours into my Town I knew I had to have you. So I did what any man in love would do. I placed people around town, like Avery and Megan, to keep an eye on you. Get close to you and learn everything there was to know. Now I feel like I know everything it's time to make you mine." He reached for me but I slapped his hand away.

"Don't touch me." He smirked and I suddenly felt Avery's arms wrap around me, trapping me. Damon cupped my face in his hands and forced me to look into his eyes.

"Oh River, by the time we are done here I will have done more than just touch you. That I can promise." My adrenaline started pumping and I felt the anger build up inside me. Before I knew what I was doing I screamed a breath of fire onto his face. He screamed out in agony causing Avery let go of me.

"What the hell?" Damon said between gasps of pain.

"I said don't touch me." I turned to Avery and shot fire at him, making him move away from the door. With that I ran out of the apartment and into the woods. I didn't get very far before I was tackled down to the ground. My attacker flipped me over and I came face to face with a very angry Avery. I screamed as he wrapped his hands around my neck and took out a needle, stabbing it deep through my skin.

I quickly used the air to push me far away from him, skidding against the ground in the process. I stood up and watched as he ran towards me. I put my hands to the ground the pulled them up, causing a wall of earth to come between us. Then I took off running again, stealing glances up to the sky in hope that my family would help me out here. I ran deeper into the woods before stopping to catch my breath.

I knew I could easily fight Avery but something inside me didn't want to. He was once my friend and even though he betrayed me I couldn't find it in me to kill him. But I knew I couldn't run forever so I stood up and looked in the direction I came, waiting for him to come. Not long after I saw him charging after me with a look of hatred in his eyes. That was enough for me to be able to at least wound him. As he approached I pulled water from the air and shaped it into a whip. I waited for him to get closer before I shot it at him, shoving him back into a tree.

"I thought we were friends, Avery! If you care about me in the slighted please let me go. I don't want to hurt you but I will." I pleaded with him hoping that he would listen. A smirk spread across his face as he laughed.

"Come on you can't be serious. I was paid to watch you, nothing more. I care about you because you will be my Luna, but not personally." At that point I couldn't control myself. I shot at him and froze it before he could move. He looked surprised but tired to play it cool. But I could see the fear that took over his eyes. I opened the earth below him and he fell in, shattering the ice that was around him.

I jumped into the hole and pulled the earth from the wall and trapped him in it. Once I had him still I froze water into a spike and aimed it at his head. I was about to shoot when something made me stop. I looked at his scared face and I couldn't help but see the boy who helped me two years ago and ever since then. I just couldn't kill him. I sighed and pushed myself out of the hole, leaving it open. I wanted someone to find him. I turned back to him and threw a rock at his head, only knocking him out. I then freed him of the earth and watched as he slumped to the ground.
