Burt Hummel arrived at the hospital early the next morning. Of course, his wife and step-son had come too, but nobody was more devastated than him.

Burt had watched his son grown up and evolve into a fine young man that had confidence radiating off of him from an introverted, closeted teenage boy. And to have Kurt, his son, his baby boy that he loved with all his heart, be violated like that, completely killed him.

The hospital had many twists and turns, and that just drove Burt crazy. All he wanted to do was hold Kurt in his arms and protect him from anyone or anything, but those damn hallways weren't helping.

At least Blaine would be there for Kurt when he wasn't. That he could count on. But where was he when Kurt had been raped, touched by a stranger undeservingly?

Once Carole, Finn, and Burt reached the right room number (finally), they found Kurt's boyfriend sitting on the floor with his knees pulled into his chest. The look on Blaine's face said it all. It was red and blotchy, with tear tracks running down his cheeks.

Blaine had nothing to say to any of the members of the Hudson-Hummel family. What could he say? I'm sorry I let some dude rape Kurt? No. No, that wouldn't do.

What Burt did next surprised everyone. He knelt down on the dusty floor and gathered Blaine in a big hug. And he cried. He cried so hard that he ran out of breath and he was shaking.

No one in that room had ever seen Burt Hummel cry.

"It's going to be okay," Blaine said to the man, "It's going to be okay." He repeated it a couple more times as if to try to convince himself that it was true. But he never believed it.

The sound of a nurse clearing her throat snapped the boys out of their moment. "Burt Hummel?"

"Yeah...yeah that's me," Burt said, sniffing.

"Kurt wants to see you. He's been asking for you since he woke up."

He nodded and proceeded into the hospital room with Carole and Finn trailing behind.

"I'm sorry, but there's only one visitor allowed in the room at a time. It may be overwhelming for Kurt." the nurse said.

Carole looked at her husband, gave him a small half smile for encouragement, and took her son to the chairs where they would wait for their turn.

"Thank you," was all Burt managed to say to her. It was barely a whisper.

He entered the room with his hands shaking, not even daring to look at his son in the eyes.

"Daddy?" he heard a small voice say.

Burt turned around immediately and was terrified at what he saw. Kurt's beautiful face, it was bruised, stitched, battered. His eyes were sad and tear-filled, a brilliant color. Kurt's eyes always got lighter when he was upset. But the worst part about it was that he looked so weak. Even when Kurt was dealing with the bullying at McKinley and all of the hate for being gay, he still looked strong, like he was willing to fight for who he was. The Kurt that Burt saw in front of him was the opposite. One touch could make him burst into tears.

"Oh, Kurt!" was all Burt could say as he sat in the chair besides his son's hospital bed and held his shaking hand.

"Dad, I'm so sorry," Kurt cried. "Please, just don't let him get me. Don't let him touch me!"

He was practically begging for forgiveness, as if he thought that his father would be disappointed. As if Burt would be angry that he'd lost his virginity.

Burt held Kurt in his arms and tried to comfort him. What could he say that could possible make him feel any better?

"Shh...shhh it's gonna be okay." He could feel Kurt's hot tears on his shirt but that only made him want to hold on tighter.
