Before I could turn to walk out.my bedroom door and find Jaxon, he appeared. My jaw was on the floor.
"Don't you look beautiful." He came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my cheek and watched me through the mirror on my bedroom door. I wrapped my arms over his and leaned into him. A pair of arms wrapped over on of my legs as a Jacob appeared in the mirror. I reached down and picked up Jacob and set him on my hip. Jaxon kept one arm around my shoulder. I just watched in the mirror. We looked like a family. My heart melted, I wanted this so bad, I never wanted to let go. But the door knocked again and Jaxon pulled his arm away.
"They get impatient." I followed him Down the stairs and stood at the base when he opened the door.
"Happy thanksgiving!!" A pair of arms wrapped around Jaxon. I quickly listened for heartbeats, 7 total. But 31 constant breathers. Everyone started in. First there were 5 men in football jerseys. One with an arm around a human girl, they all started on the football games. Jaxon turned to me for a second.

Then walked in a man about 30 who nodded his head and walked past. Jaxon again thought to me, without facing me.
Voicki leader, Michael. He's the oldest in our clan. The ones coming in are all voicki.
Behind this John person walked in 3 women with men beside them, one holding a human baby. Then walked in my aunt Lacy and her boyfriend John. They nodded at Jaxon and walked over to me. Jacob immediately reached his arm out to aunt Lacy and she took him. Both talking to me and Jacob. I half payed attention while I tried to see the rest of the people.
Laughlin.
I quickly put up my shield. A couple walked in, a girl about 6 followed behind the mother, craddeling a baby. 2 more vampire couples walked in and one teenage looking girl who flirted with Jaxon before glaring at me walking away. I decided then I didn't like her.
Trian.
Four vampires and two humans walked in. One was the girl that comforted me the night of my death. She smiled at me and walked into the kitchen. I looked for the man who picked me up from the hospital. Not here. I realized then that there were a lot of couples and kids, all human, in this clan. Two vampires left. My eyes widened as I realized who it had to be. I walked up to Jaxon and immediately grabbed his hand in fear.

They walked in. The bicen and biceness. The biceness nodded her head at me and curtsied. I curtsied back. I looked at the man who had his hand out at me. I cautiously took it and watched him kiss it. His eyes finally met mine. The evil shown through every inch of those green eyes. My hand tightened around Jaxons more.
"Hello again Katie."
"Hello."
I heard a squel and turned in time to see Jacob come screaming down the hallway. The 6 year old girl ran after him with a doll. I bent down and scooped him up into my arms. He sat on my hip batting the doll away still screaming in glee. The women carrying a baby ran after the girl.
"Aly! Come back here." The girl stopped and turned to her mother.
"Yes mom." She turned and walked back to her mother who apologized, grabbed her hand and walked back into the living room.
The bicen stared at Jacob who had curled into my arms.
"Hello Jacob."
Jacob turned his head to him, his grip tightened around me. Jaxons arm draped around me.
"Katie make him leave." He started to cry. I looked at Jaxon.
"I'm going to the living room."
Join me.
"I will join you." He met my eyes and followed me Into the living room. I heard the Bienceness reprimand the bicen and follow us. He walked into the room a minute later and met my eyes.
I'm sorry Katie. Please forgive me.
The laughlin playing with a baby turned and looked at us. I felt four more trian eyes on me.
I turned to Jaxon and heard a gasp. I ignored it. Jaxon took me around to meet everyone. There were a few people having dinner with their own family's. Must be where hospital dude is. Dinner started and out came all the food. I watched the girl, aly, and Jacob talking and eating at the kids table.
Looks like he's has a friend. Jaxons hand enclosed mine. Alys mother responded.
We should set a play date up. Aly has been dying for a new friend.

I listened to everyone chatting over dinner. Every group seemed to have conversation with themselves. So I just listened. After diner was over the rien disapeered to the theater. And everyone else sat in the living room. All the children finally slept. I found Jacob and Aly sleeping on the couch with their hands entwined and I laughed with alys father. I sat and chatted with him for a while. I found out he was 72 years old. I was suprised. I heard a giggle from across the room. I looked over to see the girl that was flirting with Jaxon earlier flirting with him again. I stared for a minute before alys dad spoke. That's Maddy, she's had a crush on Jaxon since forever. Her dad is Micheal. The elder.
"How old is Michael?"
"328" years old."
"So he was about 30 when he was turned?"
"Umm actually no. He was 15."
"We age?"
"Yes and no." I looked at him confused.
"We can control our aging. We can look as old or as young as we want its a power we all have."
I nodded still staring at Jaxon and Maddy. They were still flirting. Jaxon met my eyes they opened in realization. I pushed past her and grabbed me. Wrapping his arms around me he continued to talk to her. She glared at me and continued also. The rest of the night Jaxons hand was enclasped in mine, and we visited around with everyone. Morning came and one by one the family's started leaving. As I watched I noticed Michael and Maddy hop into the same car. Still not talking. The sun rose and I layed down on the couch and felt Jaxon lay behind me. Sleep rested over me and I was gone.
