We walked into the living room hand in hand as everyone cheered and congratulated us. I sighed with relief. The chaos was finally over. Everyone gathered around the table.
"A toast!" Jaxon father rose his glass. "To the safety of our clan!" Everyone raised their glass and we drank.
The dinner was wonderful, plenty of food and chat. After dinner almost everyone went home, except Sophie and the driver. I sat down on the couch next to Jaxon. He immediately cut off his sentence and kissed me on the cheek.
"Hello beautiful! Glad you could join us." I smiled as listened as he continued his conversation.
"Katniss is definitely not a good leader. She rebelled against the capitol and that's it. Everything else about her is faked by district 13. If she had done everything else on her own The rebellion would have failed.
Sophie made a frantic face.
"That is not true! She made the rebellion! Everyone else just followed her. Whatever she does they would do. The district gave her ideas, which if you'll remember right she did not listen too. The rebellion was fine."
"She spun ideas off of the districts ideas."
"She did not! Sh-"
"Katie!" Jacob ran in the room while I was laughing my head off. He ran and jumped on my lap.
"Aly kissed me!" The room went quiet.
"What?" I said, Aly appeared.
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did!"
"Did not!"
"Aly that is enough." Alys mother's appeared behind her carrying a two year old on her side. "We have to go home now. You'll see Jacob tomorrow at school."
"OK." Aly ran up to Jacob and looked at him. He slid on the couch and she gave him a hug. She ran out of the room and he sighed. Jaxon laughed.
"Isn't it your bedtime?" I asked him.
"No!"
"Yes" I gave him a mother look.
"Aunt Sophie said I can stay up til 9 now. I'm almost 8!" I looked confused to Sophie. She looked at me panicked then to Jaxon.
"Jacob listen to your sister. Its time for bed." He looked at her and nodded.
"Ok, goodnight!" Then ran upstairs. I heard the shower start. I looked at Jaxon.
"What do I not know?" He sighed and looked at Sophie. He kissed me on the forehead, stood up and walked out of the room. He returned to the living room a minute later with a scrapbook. Sitting next to me he opened it. There was a family photo on the bank by the cabin. Jaxons parents, him and a girl a few inches taller than him.
"Sophie is my older sister. When I was six and she was ten my grandfather went beserk and killed all the Eitak. Without our father knowing we ran away together to keep her safe. I put her on a bus. We both managed to pay for it with a little money. I was caught returning home. They questioned me for hours. I eventually lied and said that our grandfather had killed her. Being so young I never thought of the other problems that would occur to her. I had almost completely forgot about her until I had that memory at the cabin. The one you saw. When you fell asleep the next morning I looked for her on social media. I found her and we started to talk."
"I thought he was a stalker trying to get me to hookup with him." Sophie laughed. Jaxon groaned and rolled his eyes.
"Anyways I showed her who I was. The next day I was arrested I never got to tell you. She helped me bail you out of jail. I guess I never got to tell you." Something didn't click in my head.
"Wait, you were already a vampire when you where ten?"
She looked at me confused
"Yesss, girls are born vampires. Men are not. Did my little brother never tell you that?" Jaxon grunted and shook his head at her.
"No he did not." I gave him a look. He smiled back. I elbowed him in the side and he winced giving me a glare. Sophie laughed.
"So... Um this is awkward for me to ask, but um. Who is your boyfriend? I never got his name." I gave a weak smile.
"My name is Danny. I was on the bus she was on. We have been together ever since."
I nodded my head in understanding. Sophie stood up and whispered into Danny's ear. He grinned and raised his eyebrows.
"Coming." Sophie smiled and excused herself.
"What was that?" I asked Jaxon as he was laughing.
"Nothing, but your going to want some earplugs tonight." He chuckled. I looked at him confused until it dawned on me.
"Oh." He burst up laughing. I slugged him in the arm and headed downstairs. Within seconds he was standing in front of the door closing it.
"Dont go down there."
"Why?"
"Cause."
"Cause why?" I put my hands on my hips. He gave me a look and I pushed him out of the way and ran downstairs.
"Katie wait!"
"You locked him up?! You are treating him like he treated us! Two wrongs don't make a -- gasp!" My uncle Zack was practically skin and bones. He looked up at me.
"Help me!" He raised a hand. Jaxon pulled me back and I screamed.
"Katie he's dangerous!" I pushed through him and kneeled by him. I had so much to ask him. Jaxon remained in the corner. I looked at him. I rembered everything.
"What happened to my brother?" He looked down and sat back. His lips pursed.
"What happened to my brother?!" I screamed tears rolling down my cheeks.
"He died."
"Why didn't you?"
"He was used in my escape."
A memory flashed in his head.
