The longest ride ever

The cops quickly got an ambulance to the scene and because I was the only witness... I got stuck in the backseat of what I thought would be the longest ride to town.
There were 2 cops in the car I was sitting in. Another cop car was on its way to the boys house.  The one in the passenger seat was on the phone with the local police trying to find my family in the chaos of all the trick or treater's. The one in the drivers seat kept looking in the rearview mirror. He was probably making sure I wasn't slipping into shock like the paramedic said I might.
He spoke finally, "Most people slip into a shock like state after something terrible has happened. The fact you haven't after discovering one of your friends dead on the floor is a little crazy."
I looked at him through the mirror and said ya.
I remebered the house just a few minutes ago. An ivestigator and scene crew went all over the house taking pictures and labeling "evidence"  The investigator started asking me a whole bunch of questions. But when I had tried to recall his name I couldn't. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't remember. I ended up having to go get my yearbook out of my room to look up that his name was Skylar. That's when I remembered that he sat next to me in English. I was ashamed I couldn't remember that.
The passenger seat cop hung up the phone then turned around.
"No one has seen your twin brothers or your parents for a while. The last said about an hour ago. We are having cops alert everyone to be on the lookout for them. We also have a lookout on anyone that may be suspicious looking on the account someone may have been murdered."
The drivers seat cop cleared his throat and gave a look to his comrade then looked at me.
"You'll be ok kid, if we can't get in touch with your family we can have you stay at the station. You just won't be able to return home for a while, sorry."
I just looked out the window and watched the full moon in the distance.
Then all I remember is a giant screech. The car swerving to avoid hitting something. And blood, lots of blood.
I dont know who called 911, but It was about 10 minutes before an ambulance got to the flipped car. By then I was bawling and screaming for help.  The firemen pulled me and the other two passengers out and checked my injuries.
I looked back at the car that was now completely totaled, and two body bags laying on the ground with bodies in them.
I turned to the same paramedic that had treated me earlier. I was about ready to cry, this was the third death tonight.  The paramedic was trying to keep me positive which was partially helping. And I was extremely grateful for.
"Wow, rough night for you kiddo. The kid in your house and now this? Hey don't look at the car your not in there. Look at me, You are very lucky you weren't very hurt severely. Just a few little cuts and some trauma. But other than that your fine. You really should.have been hurt worse. But you  may fe..."
I don't remember anything he said after that. Just black.
