Sorry this ones so short and if it has errors, I'm sorry for that too because I didn't proofread
•~•(Y/N) woke the next morning happier than she'd ever been for a while.
Though it was the middle of the week, she didn't have to go to school today, and maybe if she played her cards right, she wouldn't have to tomorrow, either. She wouldn't have to worry about Chanel or being absolutely awful in front of April, and she especially didn't have to worry about terrible Gabe Ugliano.
Her mom was to return today, and by what (Y/N) could tell she was already home. She quickly got up and took a shower, wanting to look nice even if it was just for her mom. She brushed her hair and her teeth and walked out without making sure her hair was all the way dry like she intended.
She made her way through the pristine apartment, the smell of the delicious food filling the air. Her mom was in the kitchen, humming softly as she finished the breakfast.
(Y/N) tried to think of something to say, but she couldn't stop herself from speaking before she even knew what it was she wanted to say.
"Mom."
Her mom turned, smiling brightly at the sound of her daughters voice. "I've missed you!" She said immediately.
(Y/N) smiled, the knot in her stomach going away. She gratefully accepted the hug her mom gave her, and didn't quite want it to end when her mom stepped back.
"You look beautiful." Her mom complimented. "Very beautiful. So, tell me. Have you made any new friends?"
(Y/N) thought for a moment. Were the guys her friends? She decided to go with the safe answer.
"Yes. Lots."
She didn't want her mom to worry. She just wanted her mom to keep smiling.
"That's wonderful! I'm so proud." She turned off the stove. "Think you can handle breakfast?" She asked. "I made your favorite."
(Y/N) reluctantly nodded, not wanting to hurt her feelings.
When the food was placed in front of her, she stared at it for a while. Her mom sat in front of her with a plate of her own and some coffee.
"You take your medicine last night?"
(Y/N) nodded. She nearly forgot what it was like having someone check up on her. Gabe didn't ever do that frequently. Only rarely did he show actual care towards her, and that was only on the days when he was scared that she'd try and pull something.
"You look so much better." Her mom said quietly.
(Y/N) offered a weak smile and took a bite of her food. She forced herself to swallow it and took a sip of water in an attempt to keep it down.
She started to eat a little more, ignoring the churning feeling in her stomach.
"What're your fri—"
(Y/N) abruptly stood. She said a quick "I'm sorry." Before she ran down the hall and I to the bathroom.
All the food she ate from the night before to the small pieces just then were there. She felt her eyes fill with tears when she was done. She sat against the wall, hiding her face.
Her mom came in moments later with her water. "It's okay, Hun." She assured, giving (Y/N) the water and then flushing the toilet. "Don't cry, okay?"
"I'm sorry. I thought I could do it. I've been doing better, I promise. I'm not as bad."
"I know, sweetie."
She helped her to her feet. "What do you say we watch one of your Marvel movies?"
(Y/N) sniffed, giving a small nod as her mom escorted her to the couch.
After the entire incident, (Y/N)'s mom made it easy to smile. They had fun, and for once, (Y/N) felt happy. She didn't feel shy, and was perfectly okay with being herself, to some moderation. By the end of the day, when Gabe finally returned home, (Y/N) fell asleep on the couch (her mother was rather pleased to see (Y/N) sleeping so soundly).
And Gabe didn't wake her up and force her to move because her mom was home. So he moped and went into his room.
And (Y/N) was happy.
Genuinely happy.
