Much to his relief, Raph made it home without anyone realizing he'd even left. The next morning at breakfast no one even said a word about his disappearance the night before and talked about training.
Though Raph would never admit it, he was able to focus much better during training knowing that (Y/N) was okay. He managed to get Leo off his feet in mere seconds.
"I thought you were too heartbroken to focus." Leo muttered, standing back up.
"What?"
"Since your girlfriend is—"
"Mikey! She's not my girlfriend!" Raph exclaimed.
Mikey laughed. "Yeah, okay~"
Raph growled angrily, his cheeks a slight pink. Mikey was proud of what he accomplished, angering his brother.
Suddenly, the sound of a Tphone ringing filled the air. Mikey stopped laughing and Raph straightened as Donnie answered the phone.
"Hey, April." He greeted, putting it on speaker for all to hear.
"Hey, Donnie." April said from the other side of the line. "(Y/N) still wasn't at school today... People are starting to... To talk."
"Talk about what?" Asked Leo.
"Well, everyone knows about her." April said slowly.
"Knows what about her?" Raph asked, looking at his brothers.
"About... Don't you know?"
"Know what?" Raph asked again.
"She's..." April sighed. "(Y/N) has depression."
"What?" All the guys asked in unison.
April's sighs filled the room. "I shouldn't have said anything."
Mikey looked down at the phone with sad eyes. Donnie and Leo exchanged surprised glances. All at once, the guys looked at Raph.
His eyes snapped up. He looked worried and confused.
"What are people starting to talk about?" Asked Leo.
"Well, they think..." April fumbled with her words. "Rumors are going around. I don't want you to freak out."
"Rumors about what?" Mikey asked slowly.
"Last Chanel and her crew saw her, she was crying her eyes out. Then, she left school early when Casey and I tried to talk to her. This one guy, Percy, said he thought she was crying on her way out."
Mikey nervously looked up. It was obvious he was scared for the fate of his friend. Tears glistened in his eyes. Leo cleared his throat.
"What is it?"
April hesitated much too long for anyone's liking. Raph began to grow impatient. He wanted to know what the people were saying.
"April!" He exclaimed.
"They're saying she tried to kill herself."
Raph's heart stopped. He didn't think anything was wrong with (Y/N). He just thought she was really shy. But now that people were starting with these crazy stories that she tried to cut her life short, and he began to wonder if it was really that bad.
He tried to not worry too much. She said just last night she was a lot happier when her mom was there. Then he started to worry. After her mom left, would (Y/N) get bad?
"We have to go." Said Leo.
"Yeah, we'll call you back and tell you what happened." Donnie promised.
"Okay, guys. When you see her... Tell her Casey and I miss her." It was clear by her tone that April wasn't sure what they would find.
Donnie hung up and tucked the phone away. After telling Sensei what they were up to, they all headed off towards (Y/N)'s house, faster than they ever went there before. The whole time Raph was preoccupied with his thoughts.
He just couldn't believe (Y/N) was hurting so much.
