(the day when Hazel left the hospital)

Parents POV

"She left?" My Mom sobbed. "Why would she do that?"

"I don't know!" My Dad said

"She broke out of a hospital, that is supposed to never happen, ever!" My Dad had his arm around her shoulders, trying his best to keep her calm. It wasn't working.

"Did she say anything to you?" A polite officer named Mikayla asked.

"We weren't allowed to see her. Apparently she was out of her sound mind." My Dad answered her.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Stewart?" Mikayla asked.

"Please call me Caroline." My mom said.

"Okay, Caroline do you have any idea why she might of left?" Officer Mikayla asked.

"Well, she might've seen the brochure for the home, or she could've noticed the bag of all her stuff. The doctors said she wouldn't wake up for a bit. They drugged her well. Plus, she should be really weak after the fire." My mom said.

"Guess not. She healed really fast."

Mikayla took this in and wrote on her pad. She mumbled to herself and then pasted a smile on her face.

"Well that's all the questions for now. Thank you for answering! If you find out anything, or just want to talk please call me!" She said cheerfully.

Caroline and her husband Tyler nodded and watched her leave the hospital.

...

We drove home, when we got there we walked into the kitchen and stopped.

There on the counter was a note. Hazel's note. My mom hastily grabbed it and read every word.

"TYLER!" She yelled. He had gone upstairs to change. Caroline heard him clomping down the stairs and felt his shoulder brush hers.

"What's amatter!?" He said.

"Look!" Caroline pushed the note into his hands and he read it.

"She came here?" Tyler asked.

"Yep, she did. And I bet she took all her clothes and money." She said.

"Well what do we do? Tell the police? I don't want our house a crime scene." Tyler whispered.

They fell into a silence.

They both looked at each other, Caroline took the note and put it in a locked drawer. They then both went upstairs. Waiting for tomorrow to discuss what's happening.
