Chapter 14
(Parents POV)
"You haven't heard anything have you?" An officer said over the phone. It
had been two days since Hazel left the hospital. They had answered the same
questions every day since.
Tyler and Caroline exchanged worried glances. "We told you, we'd call you if
anything happened." Tyler answered. Caroline murmered, "We thought it
was your job to find her."
Tyler shushed her.
"If you don't have anything to tell us about Hazel, then don't call us. Your
asking the same questions every day and its annoying." Caroline's voice
cracked.
"Are you sure you don't have any idea where she might be?" The officer
asked. "Its vital we find her. She's out of sound mind and she could hurt
herself or someone else."
"We know." They both sighed.
"I have an idea." Tyler piped up. "She might be in the forest. I know its a big
forest and she could be anywhere. But at least its an idea."
"Mmh." The voice said.
"Yeah, she always used to go hiking. She knows big parts of the forest, betterthen me even. I'm almost certain she's there." Caroline added.
"I'm sorry. Its to big of a place to search. It could take months. There's noway we can go in there." The phone said.
"But why? Why can't you search there?" Tyler asked depressed.
"I told you its to vast of a fore-" The phone stopped.
Caroline took the phone and ended the call. They looked at each other. Bothof them had watery eyes.
"We'll find her, trust me." Tyler said. "She's confused. She probably thinks
that we betrayed her, with the home application."
"Yeah but she needed help. She started a fire." Caroline said. "We didn't
betray her. We were trying to help." Her voice trailed of. Her shoulder's
started to shake and she had silent sobs. Tyler helped her to the couch were
she would lay upset, till the morning.
