Chapter 13: Nightmares
“Help! HELP!” Amy struggles against the bonds on the cold metal chair. Chains crisscrossing her body slick with slime and old blood. Panic rises in her chest as the creatures in the dark come closer.
She chokes back a sob at the sight of the doctor, his face bleeding and his body limp, laying at her feet.
She didn’t think he was alive.
A cold face enters the small circle of light around them. It bends over her and grabs her cheeks between its fingers.
She whimpers and flinches away.
The creature slinks back into the dark.
Tears are sliding down her face now. “Doctor. Say your alive or I will kill you.”
Theres no response.
She screams as something touches her back, before she remembers the girl who was tied to her back. She must be waking up now.
Amy tries to compose herself. If she wanted to help the doctor, she had to escape first.
The girl tied to her back coughs and weakly cries. “Where are we? Whats going on?”
Amy waits a bit to respond, trying to pick words as to not frighten her.
The girl speaks again. This time with more courage, and not so high of pitch. She was around amy’s age by the sound of her.
“Lady, I'm familiar with aliens and being in tight situations like this, don't sugar coat it what we up against?”
Amy is taken back for a moment, and thinks of what to tell her.
The girl tries to look at amy, and she can see her from the corner of her eye. A wisp of blonde hair and pretty black eyebrows. “What is it?”
Amy thinks back to sitting in the chair, Watching those creatures hurt her best friend over and over again until he stopped entertaining them with cries of pain. Unconscious or dead.
She swallows.
“Something bad.”
Screaming echoes through the tardis like a banshee. A terrible resounding screaming that made the tardis groan in distress.
The doctor flies down the corridors, flinging opening amy’s bedroom without knocking.
“Amy! Amy are you ok?”
He dives to her bedside and see’s her, laying on her back, her red air in a fan around her head on the white sheets, tears streaming into her pillow as she screams bloody murder.
He shakes her shoulders until she stops screaming and sits straight up.
She looks around, her green eyes widened in terror.
He taps her shoulder and she flings to face him. “Amy...?”
She smiles, her cheeks still wet with tears. “Doctor! Your ok!” She launches at him and hugs him tight.
“Amelia? Wha...”
She buries her face into his shoulder and stutters. “Horrible nightmare. I-I-I was chained to this chair, and you were...you were...”
“Shh it’s over. It was just a dream.”
She stays in his arms for a long time, as the dream trickles from her memory. Along with the memory of the other girl. The one with the yellow hair...
