Emily's POV:
I finally got to my stop, and pulled out my phone. I just stood there, in the chilly weather while I watched the sky become a little brighter, and cars pass from two directions. The bus finally came, and I was dreading it..hopefully no one would say anything this morning. Monday is normally my free day from being called names. Since almost everyone in my grade parties during the weekend, they would be too tired to insult me. It stopped right in front of me, and swung open the doors. I stepped on and quickly found a seat in the back. Believe it or not, but the people that have nothing better to do than make fun of someone before it is even seven o'clock in the morning, actually sit up front. I sat down and pulled out my headphones, plugged them into my phone, and listen to the with my eyes closed. You see, music is my escape..from everything. I am basically ignored at home, I am made fun of at school, and my only real friend is Bret. I let music over come me, and my thoughts of Bret's stop coming up soon so I would be able to see his beautiful smile. Yes...I think I might like him like that..
Bret's POV:
I got to my stop after walking a ways up the road. I couldn't wait to get on the bus because then I could see Emily. I bet she had someone say something to her already. Seven o'clock on a Monday, and people have nothing better to do. I am always sticking up for her, even though she doesn't want me to. I can't help it, you know? She has come to me crying because of what people say, so how could I not be there for her? She is the one I want to be with..and I think this year is the year that I am going to tell her how I feel about her. She is my definition of beauty.
I was stricken out of my thoughts from the roar of the bus. I knew Emily was going to be in the back of the bus, so as soon as the bus doors opened, I jogged to the back. I sat down slowly, and quietly, not wanting to scare her. She had her eyes closed, and she was gently nodding her head to the beat of the music. She is absolutely beautiful. Her hair was gently falling in her face, and I couldn't help but to push it behind her ear. She jumped, and was quite frightened until she saw it was me.
"You scared the living shit out of me!" She giggled and playfully hit my arm. "I'm sorry.... Umm, here..I brought you this.." I reached into my backpack, and pulled out the Cereal Bar. "Knowing you, I figured you didn't have breakfast...like every Monday.." I blushed as I handed it to her. "I don't forget every Monday!" She tried to protest, but she took it anyway.
