I kept running. I just knew that I had to keep going. I was somewhere in the woods, and my leg was killing me. "Emily!" Someone kept yelling, but I didn't exactly know who. I heard footsteps come closer, and closer. I kept pushing on no matter how out of breath I was, I just kept moving. I was stumbling over tree roots and vines, but I kept going until-

"Emily wake up!" Bret? "Emily!"

"What?!" I sat up so fast that I got light headed immediately had to lay back down. I rubbed my hands over my eyes so I could see clearly. "Are you alright? You were thrashing in your sleep.. Almost as if you were running or something." I looked at him. Confusion taking over my features. "So, it was just a dream?" I asked, still running a hand over my head. "Yeah, Emily, you haven't moved from that bed since I put you there. Last night." He came over and sat down near me. I sighed and sat up. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, brushing some loose strands of hair out of my face. "It was no big deal I guess. I was running in a woods type area, and I heard someone calling me, and they were catching up really quick because of this cast, and then I woke up.." I trailed off, trying to make sense of my dream. It all seemed too real to be a dream though. I felt the ground on my feet, I felt me pushing through low hanging leaves of the trees...I just felt everything. It was all too real for my liking.

"Well it's over now, okay? Don't worry about it, I'm right here." He hugged me, and I sighed into his neck. "Come down stairs, I went back to the store today, and picked you up something." He smiled, and helped me off the bed. "Hey, when do you get that cast off?" He asked as he picked me up again. This was getting old. I'm not six, I'm sixteen. "In a week, or so..Why?" I questioned as he took me downstairs. "Because I know it's just eating you away that you have to depend on me." I smirked, and I punched his arm. "Ow!" I fake yelled, and acted like he was going to drop me, which made me cling on for dear life. "Don't do that!" I squealed, and took me into the kitchen.

"Here look at these!" He grabbed a container off the table and handed it to me.

They were huge chocolate chip muffins. My weakness.

"I know they're your favorite, so when I saw them, I just had to get them." He blushed a little, and I thought it was the cutest thing. I never really see Bret blush, it's just something that he doesn't do often. "Thanks, I'll have one later." I smiled, set the container with the overly sized muffins down, and gave him a hug. His hugs have always been my favorite. The way his arms completely cover my lower back, and having his head in my neck. Just him.

"Shit!" I exclaimed, and his arms dropped from my waist. "What is it?"

"My school work, ugh fuck." I limped into the living room, and found my laptop. I logged on to the school grading website. "Great. My life officially sucks." I sighed, this was just amazing. "What about it?" Bret finally came into the living room, shoving half a muffin into his mouth.

"Damn. Slow down, killer." I giggled, and he shot me a glare. I sent an e-mail to every single one of my teachers asking them to give me the assignments via e-mail, and praying that they would. I could go to school, but with the condition I'm in.. I'm easy prey for Drew and his clique.

"So...What are you doing?" He asked, finishing the muffin. "I forgot to e-mail my teachers the first week I was off, and now I e-mailed them to send me every single assignment they need me to do. So, if they do that.. I'll have about a week and a half worth of work to get done in about.. I'd say a week."

"Well shit. You better get on that."

"Well, if you didn't notice, you missed school yesterday, and today. Looks like you better get on that." I said mocking his tone.

"I still have less work to make up than you though." He stuck his tongue out at me, and I just rolled my eyes.

"Em?"

"Hmm?" I asked, my eyes glued to the screen, not wanting to miss something if they e-mail me back.

"Do you want to get out of this house today? Like go to the park, or something?"

I nodded my head. "Yeah, that sounds good. Only if you promise me hot chocolate afterwards." I slyly smiled, and he held out his pinky. "I promise." He stated in all seriousness, and I gladly took his pinky in mine.
