Emily's POV:

The bus ride was pretty much the same as it always is on a Monday. I ate the Cereal Bar as Bret and I talked about how we didn't understand the Biology homework that we were giving on Friday. I love how simple he is, and how he isn't afraid to be himself around me..

The bus pulled up to the school, also known as my hell. I knew that even though it was Monday, there had to be one person out of the crowd that would make some sort of comment. I had a pretty good feeling about it. So anyway, Bret let me get off before him and we walked in together. "I don't want to be here.." I whispered as I stayed close to Bret's side, feeling safe when I knew he was there. "I know..but just think, I'm right here with you." He draped his arm over my shoulder, and I shuddered under his touch. He has never done that before...and I couldn't stop my arm because it has already placed its self on his waist. He didn't seem to be affected by it, but he did smile to himself. I like how this felt...being in his arms.

We walked like that all the way up stairs, and to our lockers. He let go so he could get to his before first period. His locker was only a couple away from mine, and we would always share glances at each other. I pulled out everything from my backpack, and stuffed it into my locker. I placed my backpack on the hook in the back of the locker, and started picking out everything I needed for my morning classes. My morning classes were only four classes, and then after fourth period was lunch. I grabbed my morning binder and my first class book. English. Don't get me wrong, I loved to write...I just didn't enjoy my teacher very much.

I had all of that in my hands, and I noticed Bret was already in homeroom. I was beginning shut my locker when the name calling started...

"Look at the fat ass." One girl said, I didn't even know who she was..and I didn't want to. "I know! I heard she slept with someone again! That's like...her fifth person this year! It's only February, slut. Take your time before you get aids." Another one said. That's funny..I have never even had sex before. "I heard she already had them." The first girl talked again. "Shut up, and leave her alone! Get to class, or I'm telling the principle for harassment! You guys acted like she wasn't even there! Now get out of here, you little pieces of shit!" I knew that voice..and he always seemed to come to my rescue, even though I would always tell him not to. "You didn't have to do that." I quietly spoke as I shut my locker, and looked up at my best friend Bret. "Yeah..I kind of did. You weren't even going to say anything! They were all lies anyway..I know you've never even had sex before." He grinned quite happy with knowing about my personal life. "Shut up!" I quickly ended the conversation as I entered homeroom, right as the bell rang.
