Nikki's P.O.V.

"Come on, Nikki! You're gonna miss breakfast." Ash called from the bottom of the staircase.

"Hold on, I'm almost ready!" I replied, loud enough so that she can hear me.

Hi, I'm Nikki Sohma! But, I go by the last name Kanaji, due to my step-mother adopting me when I was little. Sadly, my original father hated me, and he took me to the forest and left me there, and I was only 3 at the time. Then, my step-mother asked me if I could live with her because she has 2 little girls just like me. You may think to yourself, aren't all kids the same in someway? Well, not me or the Kanaji's. They live under a curse so if they get stressed out, or hugged by a guy, then Ash and Katy would transform into a fox and a wolf. I transform into a cat or a kitten which sometimes Kyo calls me for a playful joke. Speaking of Kyo...he is from another family, the Sohma's, who also have a curse. But his family transform into the 12 animals from the Chinese zodiac. Kyo transforms into a cat, just like me but he is orange instead of brown. Yuki, Kyo's cousin, transforms into a rat, and Shigure, another cousin of Kyo, transform into a dog. They transform like mine and the Kanaji's, if they are hugged by the oppisite gender or under a great deal of stress.

Anyways, Kyo and I are in a relationship. He's so kind and affectionate to me, and usually Ash teases him for that. After that, Kyo would get frustrated and embarrassed and he would go to the one place that he loved to go at times like this, the roof. Occasionally, I would come up there just to keep him company, and so he can cool down more faster. But, usually on a beautiful day, we would either watch the sunset, sundown, or just chill up there on a starry night.

"Nikki! What are you doing up there? Daydreaming!? You have to eat breakfast or else we're going to be late for school!" Ash furiously shouted from below the staircase.

"I'm not daydreaming," I lied. "I'm getting ready. I'm coming down now so you don't need to yell anymore." I rushed out of my room, not paying attention to where I was going, suddenly I bumped into someone, then that person put their arms around my waste.

"Slow down, you don't need to rush." a calm male voice said, then he let one hand stroke my soft brown hair. I looked up and noticed Kyo smiling gaily.

"Oh, haha sorry about that. Ash called me to come down several times, and she's rushing me to get ready." I answered sheepishly.

Kyo let out a small chuckle. "Haha that's alright, but I'm pretty sure that Ash just wants breakfast and she can't be patient."

"Yeah, I think your right. Anywho, lets go eat, we have school today." I replied. Kyo nodded then kissed my forehead. I then began to blush crimson red, along with Kyo. Then we headed downstairs to eat breakfast.

"Why do we have to go to school?!" I heard Katy complain. "It's stupid, boring, and I'm surrounded by morons!"

"Katy, that's rude. Maybe you should be a little more nicer?" Ash said while trying to sneak some food into her plate. Kyo and I sat down next to each other at the Kotatsu, carefully listening to the argument.

"Look who's talking, the biggest moron in this house." Katy blurted out.

"I'm sorry, but who's older? I am! So I can't be called a moron!" Ash spat back.

"Since when have you learned how to take care of yourself? Never!" Katy bellowed.

"Good morning everyone breakfast is...ready?" Tohru said as she walked out of the kitchen with breakfast along with Yuki carrying a few bowls. Then both stood in their spots in shock to see Katy and Ash arguing, and nearly about to kill themselves.
